“Great day out for everyone”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014

A fantastic day out that encompasses a breathtaking stadium alongside vast amounts of German and Nazi history. We undertook an individual tour with an audio guide to help us. This was a fantastic resource as it provided us with a map and detailed information for each stop on the tour. It is an overwhelming and memorable experience.

However, the individual tour doesn't allow access to changing areas or pitch-site access although you are free to walk around pretty much all the seating areas of the stadium. As we are English the guided tours weren't available to us but we found the audio guides to be a more than adequate replacement.

“Breathtaking”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

I was delighted when our tour guide said we would be stopping here. The architecture of the stadium is truly amazing and the fact it has not changed for so many years even after everything that has happened in Berlin. A must see!

“Take a tour anyway”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2014

This is one of the places you have to visit in Berlin. What you should do is join the tour because you can visit at the places where you can not go by yourself like VIP seat, inside changing room, warm-up area, chapel and some other places. If you want to get everything about the tour you should understand germany because they don't do tour in english, but it was worth of just hanging around the group. But with general admission fee you will get the spirit. Stadium itself is massive and you can feel strange atmosphere from old times. Also diving pool was nice to see.

“A piece of athletic history”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2014 via mobile

I did the self-guided tour with a friend. The place was massive and oozed history, but I didn't get the full experience because there weren't many tablets explaining the history of the stadium. I would suggest paying the extra money to take a guided tour with the tour guide. You can go into the seating of the stadium and there was a room with a lot equipment from the past. It was unclear if they were the authentic batons, shotput ball, etc in the olympics because there was nothing explaining it. It wasn't worth it to just get general admission and it was very far out of the centre of Berlin. If you do decide to make the voyage, get the tour.

“Olympic Stadium”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2014

This is a self guided tour for about 5 Euros with the Berlin Welcome Card discount. This will be good if you are interested in the stadium and history about it. Just check its opening days before you travel as they do hold events as well as matches there so days and times can vary. There is also a public pool which I wasn’t aware of until I got there, it seemed to have mainly kids in the pool diving off the boards. So if you are a family or on a school trip this could be something to look into. Tranport wise it is very easy to get to using the U2 (red line) towards Ruhleben taking about 30 minutes from the Alexanderplatz/museum island area. I suggest you plan for aprox 2 hours to walk around the stadium.
