The hotel was a rather good choice for first-timers in Berlin. Rooms are spacious, and clean. Quite near the metro, and the main shopping area with cinemas and restaurants, too. We haven't utilized anything other than the room itself, but am starting to think we should have given the spa a try.

The hotel is conveniently located to everything but the high street, but with so much to see in Berlin, we managed to walk nearly everywhere from Potsdamer Platz. The rooms are huge- suites actually, with an office that we nearly missed completely (and never used). The staff was kind and helpful and the breakfast (and the room in which it is served) was delightful. The spa is beautiful but I must say I had one of the most underwhelming massages of my life. Not bad per se, but certainly nothing special. I would not recommend having a massage at the Mandala. We liked the streamlined decoration found throughout the hotel and would definitely recommend it. I would have appreciated a better entertainment package though- some movies on demand or satellite channels would have been great in dealing with jet lag.

The service in this hotel is definitely 5 star. On entrance to the hotel we were greeted with a refreshing cold towel, particularly welcomed since Berlin was experiencing a warm spell.

We were here to celebrate my birthday, and my husband tells me that they could not have been more accommodating with regards to arranging a surprise birthday cake at breakfast. The breakfast was excellent as well - with a wide ranging buffet.

If you want to experience a hotel where you won't be disappointed with any aspect - this is the one to choose.

The hotel is very well located in the city - close to Potsdamer Platz with fast access to public transportation, cinemas, shopping mall etc.

The service in the hotel is excellent! And we were also excited about the breakfast buffet. I enjoyed the Fitness Centre and the spa area with the Sauna.

The only small negativ point - the bathroom did not really meet my expectation. When taking a shower the floor got wet

What a great location in the heart of the modern Berlin at Potsdamer Plaz. There are sophisticated shopping arcades and top restaurants right outside the door, as well as other prestigious hotels and facilities.

The rooms are surprisingly spacious, simple, yet clean and highly functional design...they have a real sense of serenity and are welcome at the end of a busy work day. The only notable issue was that the suites lack contemporary equipment, such as flat panel tv's, which are now standard even in lesser properties.

Overall, there is so much value here, especially in such a preferred location! The reception staff was exceptionally helpful to me with several personal travel challenges, including finding me a suitable mobile phone solution. Room service was always prompt and friendly.

They have a very high end restaurant in the property (FACIL), which I think needs further thinking in order to better accomodate the broader needs of hotel clientele. Also, this property could also use a seasoned concierge, one well connected with top restaurants, though it's hard to beat the real

The managing partner was fantastic in dealing with one issue I had at the restaurant, and, after experiencing his sincere effort to make sure things were right, I wouldn't hesitate to return to the Mandala.

if you looking for something a bit different from the Marriot or Intercontinental this hotel certainly fits the bill. The lobby is small, but the rooms are massive, they have desks, walk in wardrobe and a large bathroom, they also have CDs and magazines in the rooms which is a nice touch. The bed is comfy with no problems. The only problem I found was with the breakfast, it cost €25, which unless your not paying the bill, is not worth it at all.
there is little an international traveler will like, lots of meats but other than muesli they have no cereals or other non continental food. if you want a much nicer breakfast stay at the Ritz Carlton across the Platz, its €10 cheaper per night and the breakfast is incredible.
