ok so we were expecting so much from this hostel and it really was a let down ..the breakfast was free how everwhich was good as it was all you can eathowever its two trains away from everything you want to see in berlin, its way to far out from all the attractions!! its huge however they were booked out so we only got to stay for 2 nights thankfully as we found t he circus hostel instead (amazing) . the staff were average not overly friendly or anything but not rude..place was really clean and the rooms were really nice ,the docir and t hat of the hotel was nice but its a lot smaller downstairs then i expected..not much of a party hostel while we were there?really quiteand a bit too big that its kinda hard to meet people..however theres an amazing mexican restaraunt around the corner plus its really cheap tpp a is the internet and call place beside it.. all in all the generator was pretty average ..a major downfall is how far away it is from everything!

We stayed there for 4 nights.Overall our stay was good, the hotel is centrally located close to tram and Storkower Strasse. There is a 7/24 Burger King near the hostel. Bufft meal is provided with the room service. If you look for a clean and budget hotel only for sleeping, Generator Hostel would probably fit your requirements.

Location of the hostel is nice if you want to travel a lot by S-Bahn in Berlin. At night, you'll find it hard to sleep if you're in the back of the hotel: bar is closing at 11 pm with loud music and the train makes noise at night.

Otherwise, it's nice if you want to stay in a budget place in Berlin, easy to find because you can see the logo of the hotel from the train station. People are very young, could be nice to meet some people too.

I'm not sure the hostel is quite as amazing as the website sounds, but it was good all the same. Although not in a central location, there is a station right nearby and the publuc transport in Germany works really well. The hostel is really huge and has its own bar (not a club) but has a slight school-trip feel. The bar was a good way of meeting other people, and the place is pretty good for the price. We paid for a luxury room, i'm not really sure it was all that luxury, after staying in a pretty basic 1st hostel the idea of mirrors and a washbasin seemed amazing, and yes the room was nice, but it wasnt luxury. Overall a good hostel.

I had one day in berlin, and had to see the 'must-see' sights in and around berlin. I needed a place that was cheap and in the city centre. hostel Generator fitted the bill nicely. at 15 euros a night per person per night with breakfast thrown in it is a steal! and in the heart of the city! The minus point is that being a hostel with 9 floors, it is very impersonal. We were four and were accomodated in 2 different rooms. the rooms had bunker beds. again, the lift (elevator) was always a problem. The breakfast more than compensated for all these small nitpricks. and free internet provided you have your own lap-top. pretty happy experience. However dont expect the staff to be very cheerful. they were not! ideal for the pub-crawlers. Not so ideal for a family like us. But, we survived and live to tell the tale.
