Metro is located within 1 minute of Hostel. Checkin is located at the bar on the side. The hostel has a great lively atmosphere, hostel offers free breakfast and free wifi in the bar area. We booked a double room with shared bathroom facilities, and we were lucky enough to get to a private apartment with lounge kitchen separate bedroom and private bathroom. Only thing missing was a TV. The room was located in a separate building behind bar building, which provided peace and quiet, and also provided us with a nice view of the courtyard. Very comfortable stay - highly recommended.

I stayed in a single sex dorm for six people in this hostel. It wasn't bad as far as hostels go. The security was quite good and it seemed like there was a card entry for most doors. The pub downstairs was nice, my bed was clean and had a little night light. Once again you should bring your own lock for the lockers. The only problem would have to be the shortage of toilets and it was a bit annoying waiting to brush your teeth and have a shower.

Had never stayed at a St Christopers before and thought it was great.
Found it very clean, notably so for a hostel, and the food in the bar was great, with very quick service, even on a Euro2012 match night. Some of the drinks were expensive but they had offers on so there was always a cheaper option if you wished to 'save' money.

As i mentioned we stayed during football, so the bar was very busy at night with the expected drunk morons you find on these occasions, but thats not the hostels fault. the only other negative i could think of is that the directions from the TXL bus stop could be clearer, or maybe a map in the 'getting here' instructions.

The staff were friendly and knowledgable about getting to any sites we asked, and without prompting would state whether walking, tram, bus or U/S-bahn were better options.

May be it was because of the football, but we didnt struggle to find friendly people as a previous review had stated. And we didnt find the noise from the bar could be heard from our room, but we were on 2nd floor.

i would definitely recommend

My friend and I stayed here as part of our European interrail travels. We picked it because it was a well known chain (something i now would recommend against using as selection method) and a good location (5 mins by ubahn to Alexanderplatz). However the sheer largeness of the place made friend making neigh on impossible unless you got hammered in the public bar downstairs and forced yourself on another table. For solo groups it probably works quite well, but as a 2 wanting to meet people it was a bit useless. Facilities were nice and clean tho, and the staff were very nice indeed.

Room Tip: ask for large mixed dorms if you want to meet people

The staff was friendly and helpful, the bar food was alright, and the rooms were clean. The unisex shower was a bit dirty and sometimes it can be noisy (especially if your room is facing toward the inner garden). There are separate showers for men and women and these were much cleaner than the unisex shower.

They have computers upstairs in the lounge area above the bar (which is also very noisy at night) which you can buy time on - 1 euro for 30 minutes and 2 euro for an hour.

Breakfast is free and consists of juice, tea, milk, water, bread, cereal, and fruit.

Overall I thought this was a nice place to stay if you're on a budget - it's close to a lot of restaurants, shops, and sight-seeing and the metro is literally right outside the door. However, you might consider someplace a little quieter if you're a light sleeper.

Clean, affordable, and very well located. The staff are great, and the food at the bar in the lobby is fantastic. The washrooms are good, and the rooms are fairly spacious.

The place can be a bit loud, so that's a downside of you're sensitive. The bar can be a pretty happening place, and the walls are thin.

Also, check-in later in the day can be awkward if the bar is full, because you have to check in at the bar.

Overall, the location and the bar are St Christophers' strengths, and most other elements are pretty good. If the noise will be an issue, though, perhaps it's a miss for you.
