Owner description: Zoo Berlin is home to over 15.000 rare and endangered animals representing more than 1.500 species and subspecies. It is the most speciose zoo worldwide. Zoo Berlin is located in heart of Berlin, opposite to the train station Zoologischer Garten. The tasks our zoos of today are faced with are many and diverse. And there is more than one reason to keep animals. Since 1844 visitors to Zoo Berlin can relax and learn. Comparable with a living, green oasis the zoo today lies directly at the heart of the city. Here you can relax and learn new facts about the most diverse zoological subjects as your interest takes you.

OMG apparently it should only take 2 hrs to look around 3hrs later we were still there, so many animals to see and we missed some. The Panda Bears are adorable definately go and see them if nothing else. Nice family outing if you have children plenty of places for food and drink. Think it is cheaper to do the zoo and aquarium combined

Brilliant for getting some fantastic pictures of the animals due to how close you can get, however, many of the enclosures are VERY small and this is very upsetting to see! The female tiger was pacing up and down her CAGE roaring and crying and the people stood around watching her. very distressed!

I am local to chester zoo and therefore very used to seeing animals with very large enclosures where you know that chester zoo do there very best to ensure that the animals live as wild a life as possible.

I have previously visited hamburg zoo and loved it there with the animals all very happy and so I was very sad to see the difference when it came to this zoo :(

Berlin zoo has recently loaned pandas from China and have a contract with them for the next 15 Years.
if you research this, they are costing a fortune! I feel that the money could have been put to a much better use.

Although I've been to many zoos in America and one in Canada. This one was like no other I've been to before. It was cool to see the animals up close and personal. Hearing Lions roar was surreal. There were some animals there I had never seen other than on television. The walk around the zoo was comfortable not lots of hills. There were lots of shady areas to rest.

A well maintained and extremely comprehensive collection of animals (one of the largest in the world apparently). There are over 18,000 animals at the zoo so it definitely isn't hard to fill a day here. Highlights were the new pandas, the puma and the slow loris! We found it a little hard to get to from the city (maybe that was just us though). Lost a point as hardly any of the signs were in english (despite many of the visitors speaking english). Given that there were many species I hadn't seen before it would have been good to know more information. Apart from the bald eagle who has an extremely small cage, the animals all appear well looked after and happy. Overall, an enjoyable experience.
