“Wonderful location!”
Reviewed 4 November 2013

We stayed at this hotel for five nights. We chose it because of the favorable reviews and a fairly good room rate. This is a modern business hotel. The rooms are fairly compact with limited closet space. We never unpacked. But, overall, we really liked the hotel. The location was excellent. We were two blocks away from Alexanderplatz, a major transit hub. This made getting around Berlin very easy. Also, we were there in late September and there was an Octoberfest celebration every day at Alexanderplatz. Really fun! Breakfast at the hotel was excellent. There was a good selection of hot and cold items. Omlets were made to order as was cappuccino. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All were English speaking. Their dinner recommendations were good. There were numerous restaurants within easy walking distance. The bathrooms were modern and well stocked. Some people might be put off by the glass wall between the shower and the bedroom. There is a picture etched (?) in the glass so it is not a clear view, but it is a little strange.

Overall, if you can deal with the lack of closet space, this is a good choice for a Berlin hotel.

We have just returned from a three night break in Berlin. Hotel Indigo Berlin Alexanderplatz is a fantastic hotel, only a short walk from the train/underground stations. We booked two standard rooms, with breakfast included in the price - one of the rooms was upgraded free of charge at check in. The rooms are beautifully decorated and include complimentary tea/coffee. The showers are fantastic. The choice of food at breakfast was really good (sausages, bacon, eggs, cold meats, cheeses, fruit to name just a few).
The staff at the hotel were very helpful especially the manager Dirk who gave me advice on how to book football tickets before leaving the UK. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again if I return to Berlin

Dear 26Aber26,

thank you for being our guest at Hotel Indigo Berlin - Alexanderplatz and for writing a review on tripadvisor ! We are truly glad to read that you have enjoyed your stay that much - this is what all our team is trying to achieve and it seems that we over exceeded your expectations.

It was a pleasure helping on planning your activities. I am happy to read that the visit to the sold out Olympic Stadium worked out - even if we were not so happy about Hertha's 0:2 vs Schalke.

I have stayed twice in this hotel and really loved it. Hotel is a short walk from S-bahn and U-bahn stations. The rooms are gorgeous and comfortable, also there is coffee/tea machine in each with complimentary supplies. The staff was nice as well.

The Alexanderplatz neighborhood might feel a bit unsafe late in the evening, however I never had any unpleasant experiences.

Room Tip: Some room are facing inner yard, you might want to ask for a room facing Alexanderplatz

My sister and I are staying at this hotel. It is a stone's throw away from Alexanderplatz, so the location is great; we have a view of Alexanderplatz and the TV tower, fun view! Yes we hear a little of the strassenbahn noise but it's OK; the view makes up for that. Everything nice and clean; yes these aren't large quarters if 2 people are sharing a room, but it's fine.
My only complaint is the very silly transparent glass wall of the shower that looks onto the bed. There is some kind of picture of a statue that covers part of the glass, but most of the glass is clear. You can see into the shower!!! And into the toilet too, actually. I hate it. The worst idea ever. It is not artistic or clever or romantic. I had to remove 1 star from the rating because of this. Too bad. Privacy is important. That unfortunate situation aside, I do recommend this hotel

Dear ZwillingNewYork,

thank you for being our guests at Hotel Indigo Berlin - Alexanderplatz. Thank you for your excellent feedback !

We know that the glass wall separating the bathroom from the bedroom is not everyone's taste. There is a mural of the Neptunbrunnen - which is the big fountain on Alexanderplatz - on the glass and we think, that you really have to look closely to look through it. Some of our deluxe rooms do not have this glass wall so please let us know when you are booking online that you request such a room. Alternatively you can also email me on dirk.dreyer@hotelindigoberlin.com.

We are hoping to see you again here at Alexanderplatz !!

Take care, Dirk Dreyer

We stayed at this hotel for 9 days and found this boutique hotel to be in an excellent location. Two minutes walking from the Alexanderplatz and close to shopping and transportation. The staff was welcoming and helpful.
The room was a little short on storage space but well appointed, clean and comfortable.(Loved the shower).I especially appreciated their willingness to change the pillows and comforters from feathers to nonallergenic! Despite another review about the noise,we found the rooms to be well insulated from the street and trams .Breakfast was good- and they provide Soy milk upon request.
Overall would highly recommend this lovely boutique hotel for it's value and comfort.

I doubted to score the hotel 3 or 4. Ultimately I settled on the latter. Key issue is that I didn't sleep well. Rooms are great design but too busily decorated (so not really relaxing), frontside is also quite noisy (tram or metro) and finally noise insulation of rooms is quite inferior.

At the same time the design is nice, service is excellent and breakfast was also very good. Finally as pointed out by many location is really good. I will come back but not anymore for business trips.
