There were some good points and a few things wrong with the place. The first thing we noticed was the outside gate and main door locks were not working, anyone could pull them open.
Inside, the biggest problem was the very loud noise from a number of adjoining apartments.
This was not party noise as such, the residents seemed to be young men who spoke very loud, slammed doors, sang and at times banged on the radiators, every night up to 4.30am. We tried asking them to be quiet but to no avail. We then tried speaking to the management company staff on site. They were sympathetic and promised to speak to them after the second night, but the noise continued. We complained again and this time we were informed that these were long term residents and that they could do very little about it, cultural differences were mentioned. When it persisted into a fourth night we were given more assurances but nothing changed. We even bought ear plugs to try to sleep but the noise could still be heard. After six nights of this we were not at all happy.
This place is marketed as holiday apartments and costs almost as much as some hotels but it seems to me that WInterfeld Palais has become more like social housing.More
