“Great fun and so well done.”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

We’re foodies and have lots of experiences on international food tours. We do them almost everywhere we travel. It’s a great way to see parts of a city one wouldn’t normally visit while sampling tasty bits of the local cuisine. Bastian’s Berlin Food Tour was excellent. After an initial hiccup of not easily finding the starting point, we cannot speak highly enough of the thoroughness of the tour, the research Bastian has clearly put into where he takes you and the fun which he makes tasting some pretty foreign sounding foods taste.

Thin slices of 18 year old cow. Wurst made from some unspeakable innards. Berliner cakes oozing with jam which put Dunkin’ to shame. Chocolate infused with rose petals. A coffee tasting lesson followed by a taste of the strongest stuff ever. All in all we sampled in excess of fifteen widely varied tastes. As we walked between spots Bastian pointed out Berlin’s omnipresent street art, stumble stones, the shiny brass markers set into the sidewalk memorializing Holacost victims and architectural remains of prewar Berlin.

Highly recommended.

“A must for all Berlin visitors”
Reviewed 25 April 2014 via mobile

Even though I have been to Berlin several times, we were delighted with the food tour and Bastian's enthusiasm and knowledge. In a few hours, we tried an amazing variety of sweet and savoury treats and drinks, discovered hidden gems and a bit of the history of Mitte and Berlin, and got to meet other great people from different countries. The tour goes at a leisurely pace, with plenty of stops, and accommodates people of all ages and food preferences. Bastian goes the extra mile, you can tell he loves what he does and quality of service comes #1 to him - we could not have asked for a more enjoyable way to spend a beautiful sunny day in Berlin.

“Original Berlin Food tour is the best”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

There are many food tours but only one is by Bastian and his company. It was amazing. Bastian combines a historical tour and a passion for food together in a great tour. One of the best ways to see East Berlin, and his tour is the best of all.

These tours limit the number of people to 8, so you get a lot of individual attention. I have some dietary restrictions and Bastian was very accommodating. During the tour we stopped at a variety of places including a micro-brewery, a chocolatier, charcuterie and a coffee roaster (and many more). At each stop, we had an opportunity to meet with the owner and partake in some great samples.

If we would have paid for the samples and the cost of the tour guide, it would have cost much, much more than the price of the tour. I'd say this tour was both a great deal and a great deal of fun.

Highly recommended!!

“Perfect mix of information and gorging on delicious food”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

What an amazing few hours! My boyfriend and I both agree that Bastian's food tour was one of the (if not the best) highlights of our 8 day trip. Not only giving us a tour of the main streets of Mitte and typical German food and drink, Bastian also took the time to let us discover the less 'touristy' Berlin; the backstreets filled with quirky graffiti, the subtle memorials of the war, the age-old traditional bakeries and chocolateries, and the newer organic and local cafes supporting Berlin's Slow Food Movement. Thank you Bastian!!!

“Exceptional beer tour”
Reviewed 14 April 2014 via mobile

Would highly recommend the beer tour that Bastian does.

Some really cool bars that we wouldn't have found on our own. Plus Bastian is a great guide; easy to get on with and very knowledgeable, without being too in your face (as other guides can be). He's found a good balance.
