I would say that hotel has a super location - near of Kudamm and has a fare price. It has a very very nice breakfast. For a small hotel they service a big variety of food. Rest is "ok". Not very friendly staff. We did not have any bad experience, but they do not smile that much and don't make you feel "at home". You give only 1 key per room and you always have to carry the key with you as after 21.00 reception is closed. Next time if I don't want to spend to much I will still go back to this hotel. But cannot recommend it as a nice place with a great service. PS. For those who speak Russian - all staff of the Joel speaks Russian language. But as I have noticed they are not very friendly especially with Russian speaking guests.

Comfortable hotel, a little jaded in places, but it is clean and tidy, and in the perfect location for exploring berlin. Our room was superb, with a balcony. Breakfast was fine, and there is a nice garden which guests can use. A little noisey at night due to the squeaky floorboards, (as it's an old building) Staff were friendly and helpful. Cannot fault it, it retains some of its old world charm (eg old style lift) . The street it is set in, is full of boutiques and there are literally hundreds of places to eat all within easy walking distance. berlin itself was a total surprise to me, you feel very safe walking around, and it is certainly an impressive place to visit getting around is easy. just remember S-Bahn is surface train, U-Bahn is the underground and DB is normal train!. I would recommend the Natural history museum, and the Zoo, both are a great day out.

This hotel is a comfortable place to stay especially if your aim is to shop on the Ku damm. The rooms were very well furnished and ours looked out onto the garden which we could access directly from our room. As it was very hot when we arrived it would have been better if the rooms had had either cooling or at least fans available. It is not too far by taxi to and from the current airport (Tegal) but be aware Berlin is getting a new airport soon so this advantage may have a short lifespan.

Great location - close to metro and bus in the centre of the Berlin on "Kudam" street. We had modern room with small balcony (103 basement) in the garden. Room has a small fridge for drink wich is good during the summer. Nice and modern bathroom with Villeroy & Boch equipment. Very nice and helpfull girls in reception, internet conection (wi-fi) for free withnout any problems. Excelent breakfast with everything you can imagine. You can choose between dining room or nice garden... I would definitely recomend this hotel!

Many positives, few negatives about this hotel. Hotel Elba is really more of a pension than a hotel, as their reception closes at 8 p.m. (better have your key after that) and there is no hotel parking. But the room was clean, modern bathroom, and breakfast buffet was excellent. Good location; just a 100 meters or so from Kudamm. Reception staff were very professional, breakfast staff were not too friendly, but no real complaint about that. Parking was wherever you could find a spot in the surrounding area. Hotel reception offers a sector parking permit (7 euros/day) that allows you to park like a resident. Not a big problem if you don't mind walking a bit. Only minus really is the entranceway...it is very dark and old-fashioned in a not so nice way.

All in all, worth the money. We will consider going back next time we visit Berlin.
