I stayed here a few years ago and my confidence in re-booking was not misplaced. Although this hotel does not have any fancy trimmings, it is very satisfactory and the friendly and helpful staff really make it a pleasure to stay there. My only complaint would be the pillows, which really are a bit thin and lumpy. The breakfast staff do an amazing job keeping all supplies replenished, considering the large numbers of guests. Free and efficient internet connection in the room is much appreciated.
At first sight, the neighbourhood does not seem very attractive and its main benefit seems to be its proximity to S-Bahn (Anhalterbahnhof - you can travel direct to Wannsee) and U-Bahn (Mockerbrucke) stations. However you will soon find you can walk in less than five minutes to some great little restaurants at the bottom of Friedrichstrasse near the park, and some major museums such as the Topography of Terror. Checkpoint Charlie, the Jewish Museum and Postdamerplatz are not much further. The street is fairly quiet at night. Compared with many more highly-graded (and highly-priced) hotels, this is a great place to stay.More
