Really enjoyed our stay. Like so many others have said already, the location is fantastic. Well within easy walking distance to many of the tourist attractions - checkpoint Charlie, holocaust memorial, Brandenburg gate, museum island, tv tower to name a few. There are also many restaurants nearby. The hotel itself was clean and the staff were very friendly. We were checked in by mr. much and although his manner was informal he was friendly and welcoming. He allocated us a lovely room with a view over the river with lovely sunsets. The room amenities were more than adequate although the towels were a little thin.
The breakfast was a highlight and well worth including in the booking. Everything you could think if on a breakfast buffet at a high standard - including a glass of Buck's Fizz!!

Good location, friendly enough staff. Basics aren't quiet up to standard - towels provided were tiny, rough & only two provided. Décor outdated and tired. Excellent location. Impersonal, in a way which portrayed they weren't bothered about impressing guests.

Just spent 3 days visiting all the main sights off Berlin. Hotel is excellent location for a Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Tor and The Reichstag. Very good restaurants, reasonably priced nearby.
Hotel is right on the river, so great for a nice stroll. Can't fault the location.
Rooms were bright, clean and spacious.

upon arriving at melia berlin, after 8 hours of travel, we were met at registration by Mr. Much, who, upon viewing our booking.com reservation sneered and said, "that is not our company, that res# means nothing to me. he was sarcastic & condescending, through out our check in. in addition the hotel advertises, 'free internet' which means 2 hours, tv costs extra, and the buffet, that is 'provided', is €22 per person.i know there are better, much friendlier hotels to stay in while in Berlin . would not recommend.

Stayed here for a week whilst on a business trip. The location is great, right in the centre by the river, about a minutes walk to the S-Line station.

Reception were extremely helpful, fantastic English, the main restaurant had great food - but not a lot of atmosphere. I didn't have the opportunity to try the more lively looking tapas bar downstairs.

Room was good and spacious and as you'd expect. Typical of other Berlin hotels, there's virtually no English language TV channels (unless you pay extra) and no tea/coffee facilities either.

Every thing was over my expectations but one thing, internett.
Every day you have to get a ticket at the lobby for free access and its only for 50MB of traffic. real drawback when you need it for planning my next day there.

Stayed 3 nights in this hotel in March. Great location. Booked a standard double room with hotel online and by joining Melia rewards was entitled to discount on stay which made the price very competitive towards what was being quoted on hotel sites. At check-in we were allocated a premium room which had a great view over the river Spree. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Asked for the use of a kettle during our stay as we were in and out of the hotel at different times during the day and would like to make a quick cuppa before heading off again. This was delivered to our room within minutes. WiFi was free up to 50MB or €4.50 per day over that. Tried the Tapas bar the first night which was perfect after traveling and a bit of exploring around the city to get our bearings. Berlin is a great city, so much history attached to it that you never run out of something to see. If going to Berlin bring your walking shoes, tourist book and a list of your top 10 things to see. Great city.

Room Tip: Join Melia rewards and book directly with hotel and request room over-looking river Spree.
