Stayed at the Melia in July, first time in Berlin, and cannot fault it. The location and views from the room is excellent matched only by the service. After a hard day of sight seeing and eating!!!! it is a lovely place to return to where even the doors, not sliding doors may I add, open automatically as you approach. In every way you are pampered. The place to stay in Berlin, you won't be disappointed.

A centrally located hotel on Friedichstrasse, overlooking the River Spree and its fine choice of riverside restaurants which run along on the opposite bank.100 metres from Friedrichstrasse train station, including u and s bahn,25 mins from Schonefeld airport.Brandenburg and Reichstag 10 mins walk,1mile to Alexanerplatz in one direction and similar to Potsdamer platz in the other direction.Rooms spacious, comfortable and very clean, breakfasts are totally amazing.Staff polite, helpful and friendly.Only negative was that there was a slight odour on the 3rd floor corridor around where the staff lift is.Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back.

Room Tip: We had a quiet room overlooking the inner courtyard

Our flight back to the US was cancelled so we had to find a hotel last minute and was able to get two rooms at the Melia. I had passed it on the way to the airport and thought it would be a great location, particularly as the World Cup final was happening later that evening. The hotel didn't diappoint. The location was within walking distance of the Brandenburg Tor as well as many good shops and restaurants. The rooms were of a good size and very clearn, with comfortable beds. A plus was that the hotel windows, actually had a door that you could open with a puesdo juiette balcony allowing you to get fresh air and check out the sites. I would definitely consider staying here when visiting the city in the future.

Room Tip: Select a higher room on the river side to avoid noise from the street.

Me and my wife were first time in Berlin, went to sense the football world cup 2014 finals. For us the location was great, close to the Brandenburg Tor and also there were U+S bahnhofs very close.
Hotel was in good condition, neat and clean. Staff was professional, friendly and helpful. Our room was at quiet river side at 4th floor and even the very loud cheering after World Cup finals at the streets did not disturb at the early hours.
Free wifi up to 50MB transfer limit per 24h was included in room's price, after that you could buy more speed and unlimited transfer rate for about 5€/24h.

Room Tip: Choose room at river side, the higher the better

Hotel was in a great location -- walking distance to most Berlin sites and very close to the train. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby too. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were very good (clean and big) with great views of the river. Lots of excitement in and near hotel during the World Cup.

Classy place in a great great central location by the river. Stations literally on the doorstep, however the major locations are perfectly walkable if you prefer.

Rooms are large and clean with climate control and wifi. If given the choice, be aware trams run outside on the street side and can be quite noisy, but equally good to watch the world go by with the windows open.

We went in the winter and the bar is a nice place to retire to when you've been out all day, with cosy fires and large windows looking onto the busy street.

I'll certainly chose the Melia again if return to Berlin.

Room Tip: Trams on the street side
