A thought provoking park a little off the usual tourist trail. Consider the impact of Stalin's USSR and the implications on modern Europe.
Well worth a visit

I love this park in Berlin! Great park with places to eat and spaces to relax, an abandoned amusement park in the middle and small boats for renting. Perfect!

We spent about 20-30 minutes walking through the gardens, looking at the monuments, taking pictures, etc... Beautiful place and well maintained. It was peaceful and quiet despite being in the middle of the city. Nice for a morning walk and though who enjoy nature

This park is an absolute must. So poignant. We went all the way up to the monument....don't miss it. So many Russians died only to carry on the tyranny in another form.

A lot of visitors to Berlin aren't aware of this, but as an amateur history enthusiast (especially of the war and of the Soviet Union) this was an absolute MUST.

From the minute you enter the grounds, you can 'feel' something in the air. This is a very special place, an extremely moving monument to the sacrifices the Soviet Union made to the war effort.

The main statue itself is one of the most amazing pieces of art I have ever seen. You could wander the grounds and stare at it for an eternity. The murals that line the pathway up to it are also beautiful.

Make sure to seek this out if you're in Berlin. It isn't difficult to reach and is absolutely breathtaking.
