Stayed at Hotel Otto for two nights and everything was great from the friendly staff (everyone was awesome: desk, breakfast people and even the cleaning crew!) to the comfortable and spacious room.

Nice bathrooms with quality fixtures, great water pressure and very nice soaps/shampoos (all free trade).

The neighborhood is a bit outside of the center but it's easily accessible by bus, subway or taxi. Plenty of good restaurants and cafés nearby and it made for a relaxing stay and home base for my Berlin stay. Highly recommended!

3rd visit to hotel otto, they never disappoint! Lovely people, excellent neighbourhood, varied breakfast with individually made coffee, superb afternoon tea, splendid view from the balcony on the 7th floor, very comfy and clean rooms, etc etc, and very reasonably priced. My daughter (9) came with me, her second stay, and we both love the atmosphere, easy access to Berlin and the very helpful staff. Recommended.

I really loved this hotel. It was clean, stylish, simple -- and had just about everything we needed. Breakfast was great. Rooms were comfortable. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. Convenient location. Only drawback for me was the lack of air conditioning, but our room had a huge window out to the front, so I left it open. Problem solved. Truly a great deal and a great hotel.

We ordered our stay through a website deal so not much research on the hotel had happened before we arrived. But what a very pleasant surprise.
The hotel is situated quite central in a surprisingly quiet street. The only "noise" we could hear from our rear facing room was from joyful playing at a nearby nursery. The street itself is quite broad with lots of quality restaurants. May we especially recommend the Italian restaurant Aida 2 mins down the road.. but that's a different review.
We experienced excellent and very forthcoming service from the (English speaking) hotel staff. We received complimentary maps over both U-bahn (tube) and city and various advice on how to navigate Berlin. Parking was included, but it may be good advice to book ahead.
The hotel has no restaurant, but breakfast is a chapter of it's own. At the 7th floor there's a nice and modern lounge with a balcony where a very generous breakfast/brunch is served with everything from the usual rolls and preserves to cakes, cold meats and fish. It was really unexpected. They also during the day (self)served complimentary coffee and tea, cakes and little rolls with salami and cheese. All in all a rather splendid display.
Our room was of decent size, well appointed and in a contemporary design with a good bathroom and a separate luggage room.
The area of Charlottenburg is well situated for central Berlin. We rented pushbikes from the hotel and had a 8 min ride to Brandenburger Tor through Tiergarten in comfort and safety. Berlin is very well laid out with cycle lanes and we can only recommend this way of seeing the city.
We was lucky enough to stay during very decent weather and the downside to that was some rather warm nights. The hotel hasn't got air-conditioning, but had provided massive fans to each room. Hardly a deal breaker.
We can only give Hotel Otto our warmest of recommendations. For the price it is an absolute gem and it is very much down to the splendid efforts of the staff! We are definitely coming back.

Room Tip: Book parking well ahead.

We were there for 6 nights 29th July till 4th August and we loved our stay in this hotel. Very helpful and friendly receptionists, free cakes, hot and cold drinks, ice cream, so good! The lift is special for it's "surprise!!!" rooster sound. The U-Bahn or underground station is less than 5 min walk. Recommended!

Can't recommend Hotel Otto highly enough. We stayed with our 17 year old son in a room with an 'extra bed ' and was expecting the usual fold out sofa/camp bed but he had a proper comfortable bed and the room was huge. Breakfast was fantastic - huge selection of delicious food, wonderfully fresh fruit, home made preserves, breads, pastries, meat, fish, even fizz if you wanted to treat yourself to a Bucks Fizz. Complementary coffee and cakes in the afternoon too!
Great location in Charlottenberg, short walk to the train station to easily get into the centre. Lots of really good restaurants 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
Staff were so helpful and friendly.
One small negative for us -the weather was was so hot during our stay in Berlin and the hotel has no air conditioning. Our room was at the back so we were able to have the window open all night without experiencing any street noise, the hotel also provides a massive fan in the room (so I guess they realise it's a bit of a problem)but it was still pretty warm, although this definitely would not deter me from staying at the hotel again.

Dear guest,

It is nice to learn about your wonderful stay. I would like to thank you for your high recommendation.
Your are right, we know that the heat can be a problem in our Hotel. But there are just very few hot days in Berlin (it seems like you got really lucky with the weather). Air conditioning is unhealthy and the construction impossible. So we decided consciously against air conditioning.

In any case, we would love to welcome you and your family soon again at Hotel OTTO. Maybe in autumn or winter? Berlin will be completely different by then!

Best regards
Annemarie Ohrt

Second time in Berlin, this time we bring our 11 years old daughter. Three days is short to see everything. We started (of course) at the ZOO - walking distance, 2 hour sightseeing on double deck bus, Berliner Mauer, KaDeWe Gourmet Experience. Summer time, too hot!!! Otto surprised us with free icecream (great thought), watter - what helped us survive the 34 celcius temperature. Never thought of asking about ar conditioning...
Breakfast on 7th floor was delicius and service 10!
Lots of surprises such as bird sound on elevator (dont miss to press the surprise button...it's really fun)
