“Wonderful interactive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

The memorial is huge and interactive. I was talking about the one above. Tourists are able to interact with it, it gives you a feeling of being trapped by the huge large blocks as you walk in, at the same time you are able to see the exit point parallely.

Its not scarry neither is it fun, but it gives a deep feeling of the trapped inside..

Highly recommended..

“Haunting, strangely beautiful and very German”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014

I viewed it at night, in near silence, almost completely alone. I wouldn't recommend it any other way - despite the museum being closed.

“Uneasy, really, riveting.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014 via mobile

My only concern is - it's hard not to make it fun, especially with kids. Appropriate behavior is important to honor the purpose and message, however, it's hard not to play hide and seek. It's very moving and beautiful, however.

“Memorial has 2 parts, one above and museum below”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014

There are 2 parts to this memorial. The one on top , street level is one to walk through to appreciated all the graves of Jews killed during the Holocaust. But then go down below and after a brief security screening, the museum is free. 4 euro audioguide, 2 euro for students. We used the audioguide and found it to be really worthwhile. The ceiling shows the reverse of the memorial at street level. There are many family stories that take you through the holocaust and the few survivors from several families. Well done museum.

“Silence”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2014 via mobile

Moved to tears...

Don't miss the museum below the monument!!!
An absolute must see!
We were very, very impressed with the monument itself, but we were absolutely overwhelmed by the museum.
The way the two connect is beautiful and amazing.

The museum creates silence, astonishment, disgust, respect, sadness, shock...
Everyone should see this, to realize (as much as possible) over and over again, what happend back then!
