Away from town center, but easily accessible by U and S Bahn. A lovely area with many nice cafés, restaurants and markets. (Also a "Washerei" - where you can wash your clothes - right next door. Always appreciated when you are on the move.)

Room Tip: There is no elevator here, you have to walk up

I stayed in a single room in this hotel for a week. One cathodic TV. No private bathroom, but a washbasin and then common showers on same floor. The room was rather quiet, a bit too far of the center of the city to simply walk there, but the street and the quarter were fine. What I missed the most was a wifi access.

One would have to compare this place with a youth hostel in Berlin to make a really decent review.

This place is horrible. Room is as small as it can possibly be, with (we ordered a 'doppelzimmer') two very small seperated beds who can't even be put together as they are from different heights. We had one (broken) lamp in our room, about the smallest tv I've ever seen which also didnt work (only snow), a remote controller which didn't work, an IKEA closet which would immediately fall apart if you'd dare to put any cloths in there (the back of the closet was already lieing on the floor, broken), and there were multiple large nasty stains on the walls. Our chamber had a door in the wall seperating our room from our neighboors room. Of course the door was locked, though you could still peak at your neighboors through the keyhole if you wanted to. And as the walls are already made of paper, the additional free air in between our room and our neighboors room due to this door, made it possible for us to even hear our neighboors breathe. We were having conversations with them through our seperate closed rooms, and there was absolutely no need to raise our volumes. The lamps on the hallway are also not working properly, and as there are no windows in the building whatsoever, you'd be walking in the dark when leaving your room. You don't have your own toilet nor shower, these are shared. Of course, the water temperature of the shower fluctuates non-stop, but, beleave it or not, there's actually a hole in the door, which gives anyone passing by a perfect 'voyeur' view of the person taking a shower. Unbelievable. The people who work there are plain rude, not helping you if you happen to have a question about the city, and speak poorly English. The whole place looks deserted, empty and cold. Save your vacation and book a different place to stay.

Room Tip: Just find some place else.

Terrible place to stay, no toilet nor shower in the room, they are shared outside and in a terrible status (dirty, broken, unusable). Broken furnitures in room, flying electrical cables, TV not working.
If you arrive late in the night and front door is closed you have no way to get in, no one will open and no one answering the phone numbers.
No matter how cheap it is not worth, a nightmare!
All the minimal common sense measures are unknown here. Wondering how such place is enabled to stay open and make business.
Left the room after on night but had to pay for the whole reservation, no discussion. Host looked surprised about we want to leave in advance... no wonder!

Aurora was fine overnight, but I'm glad I spent the majority of my time in Berlin in a more central location. It's true that it is close to public transport links and it's also very cheap, however in a city like Berlin you don't have to pay too much more for a far more central location with shops, cafes, and life well in to the night and then in the morning for a coffee and breakfast. There was not much of this around Aurora.
Aside from the location - Aurora was clean and quiet, but very dimly lit. The door from the street and central corridor remained opened and unlocked to the rooms all night and there was no visible staff member on our floor. This was a bit disconcerting when leaving the room to use the separate bathrooms, would have been more so if I'd been travelling alone.
The room was very simple, clean and an adequate size with a window to the courtyard.

This pension is terrible. I booked online with this pension and when I arrived in Berlin I could not even find there location on the Berlin map. They are so far away from central Berlin and even the surrounding areas they are not even on the map. I tried to call them continuously for hours and NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE!!!! I went to an internet cafe and sent them an email and NO ONE RESPONDED FOR HOURS. I booked another hotel and later when I checked my email this pension had sent me an email 3 hours later telling me I could not cancel and they would have to charge me in full. Even after countless email to them explaining the situation they still CHARGED ME IN FULL, even though their actual policy is 80% of the total.
I have traveled all over the US and Europe and have never dealt with such unprofessionalism ever.
I would highly advise not staying here due to the lack of courtesy and professionalism and they are SO FAR OFF THE MAP YOU ARE NOT EVEN STAYING IN BERLIN!!!
