“Great location and reasonably priced”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 December 2012

This was my second stay at aparthotel vega the first one being some 5 years ago. I looked at plenty before I went and kept coming back to this one as the price was great and i knew the location was perfect.
We had apartment 1.08 between 3 of us. Two single beds pushed together and a double sofa bed. The apartment had everything we needed including toiletries.
The staff are very friendly and we arrived before check in so we were able to store our bags in a secure place while we went off to explore.
About 10mins diwn the road is the Kaiser Wilhelm memorial church which has a lovely christmas market.
You are also a 10min walk to the zoologischer garten station which takes you pretty much anywhere. We got a 5 day welcome card which covered all our travel
All in all would definitely recommend these apartments

We booked this for our short stay in Berlin for 2 nights. It was very close to the Kurferstendam, so easy for shopping and subway (100meters).
It was also very close the a railway, no problem if you keep the windows closed, but with 30 degrees this was not possible, so a bit noisy.

price was ok for 4 persons as well as it had 2 bedrooms ( 1 person and a double bed), so everybody had some privacy.

Toillet was seperatet from the bathroom, which I personally like very much.

Everything was clean and neat, woul recomenned it for a stay with family or longer business trips.

We booked this hotel for 3 nights because it seemed to be well located, reasonably priced and could sleep 2 adults and 2 kids. We were not disappointed, although strange entrance/front desk, staff were very helpful. We got our parking spot in the back as promised, room was big and clean (a little musty, faint smell of stale smoke). Location was fantastic, s-Bahn a block away, subway 5 minutes away, many restaurants and shops in the area. This is not by any means a five star hotel, but if you are looking for well priced, comfortable place to crash after a long day of sightseeing, you will not regret staying here.

Been here for a week during my visit to Berlin. Found this hotel and booked it online and surprisingly cool!!! Spacious for 3 bedrooms room with full kitchenette where we could cook for our food. Close to city, few blocks to Ulrich for groceries and Karstadt as well as C & A. 5 minutes walk to S-Bahn and bus station.
One spacious bathroom with bathtub, nice dining room, daily room service.

Room Tip: The check out time is at 12. Please remember the password to open the main entrance.

We would like please to thank the great staff of this hotel. Our stay was a pleasure. The hotel is located in a very good area, with a parking space. The staff did everything to make us feel welcome, comfortable and wanted. They assisted us with all needed logistics and tourist information. See you again soon.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 September 2010

1. Was the hotel close to things (e.g. transport, attractions, restaurants)?
2min walk to train station, 15min walk to city areas. Many restaurants nearby. About 15min on train to city.

2. Was the hotel in a safe area?
Yes.

3. Was there much noise at night?
Too loud. Our room was right next to the train line - maybe 15m away!! All night we could hear trains rumbling past. There was also the courtyard of a local restaurant under our window, and we could hear the staff emptying the bins / chatting on thier mobiles out there until early morning.

4. What was the quality and cleanliness of the hotel furniture and fittings like (e.g. bed, lock-up safe, shower)?
Basic furniture, a bit old and worn looking, but functional. Pillows very uncomfortable. There was a safe present. The toilet was very odd, with a platform at the back of the inside of the bowl, which made using it fairly unpleasant!

5. Do the hotel staff provide a good service (e.g. competence, attitude, availability)?
Although staff seemed to be friendly in general, i felt like i was asking a lot for basic requests. The staff seemed to find it odd when i asked for a second pillow, and could only locate a huge one with no pillowcase after a lot of searching. Over 5 nights it was never provided with a cover, although i left it for the cleaners to see. I also asked staff if there was a laundromat nearby and they couldn't identify one, even though thier hotel had no washing machines or laundry service.

6. What were the hotel amenities like (e.g. breakfast, restaurant, pool, bar, car parking)?
None of these amenities available.

7. Did the room come with extras (e.g. minibar, TV, internet, air-con, tea making facility)?
Small fridge available, TV, and air con.

8. Other / general comments:
Very basic accommodation, and very loud. OK for a rough traveller perhaps.

Hotel is very close to both the Uhlandstrasse stop (U1 Line) and the Sbahn Zoological Gardens stop. Its only one block off of the Ku'damm and within walking distance to Kaiser Wilhelm church, The Europa Center, The Berlin Zoo (excellent, btw with a great aquarium). It was very easy to navigate the Ubahn and travel around Berlin. Took the train to Potsdamer Platz and walked from there to The Holocaust Memorial and The Brandenburg Gate. Only about a 15 minute ride.

There are a lot of good restaurants nearby as well as a discount supermarket in the Sbahn station, which came in very handy to stock up on supplies for our kitchenette.

We stayed in room 1.2 (Triple) for 4 days. My husband and I and our two small children. The room was excellent with a sun room (breakfast area) and outside deck/veranda. The double bed was comfortable but the sofa bed the kids shared was hard as a rock. I really liked the decor however and the room was very clean. The free Wifi was very quick and we also reserved a parking spot. We left the car there and took public transport as driving and parking in Berlin seems very similar to NYC.

The only downside was that the seemed to be demolishing an old restaurant in the building. There was construction noise from M-Sa from 8am-7pm. That was a bit annoying but not so bad. Even the Sbahn that runs behind the hotel was not very loud. Also keep in mind that the reception is not 24 hours. Would definitely stay there again!
