“Excellent walking tour”
Reviewed 11 December 2013

We took this tour in Dec, it was a bit cold but it was excellent. The walk is about 4 hours and we walked approximately 6.5 km. Our tour guide Ashleigh was very knowledgeable and informative about this impressive city and its history. We really enjoyed all historical stories that she told us which helped us to understand Berlin's history better.
We only stayed 2 days in Berlin therefore join this tour was a great idea to see the most of the attractions.

“Walking tour of Berlin”
Reviewed 11 December 2013

This is the best way to get a feel for the history and the different districts in Berlin. Our guide was an Irish guy named FINN with a PhD in history and he was brilliant full of information and extremely helpful and a bit of a romantic. His recommendations for museums given out freely along the way were great and we ended up going to some places we hadn't thought of and it was well worth it. Do it on day one and you won't be disappointed, thoroughly recommended a great use of 4 hours.

This is a great way to start to know and understand Berlin. The walk is about 4 hours long and cover a lot of ground our guide Carlos knew the history of Berlin really we'l and was able to give us a very thorough overview. He was very good about answering all kinds of questions and had a great sense of humor too!

“You should start your trip with these walks”
Reviewed 10 December 2013

We took two of these tours. The first was the Third Reich walking tour with Darren and this provided a great overview of the city in relation to WWII.

The other tour was the the discover Berlin tour with Finn Ballard. Excellent tour.

Both guides are PhDs in German History, so they have a wealth of knowledge.

highly recommend

“A great introduction to berlin”
Reviewed 10 December 2013 via mobile

We were introduced to our guide La Rocca, and wondered how one man could maintain the interest of a large group of tourists over a period of four hours on a cold snowy day in Berlin just before Christmas
We were soon to find out , La Rocca had an enthusiasm and a knowledge of Berlin it's history and it's relationship with the history of the peoples of Europe that was woven into a series of stories that interconnected at various points of the walk.
We were introduced to the major sites of Central Berlin that we could then return to at leisure with an understanding of the location within the city.
We were also introduced to various less obvious sites that without a detailed plan of the city may have remained off limits over a weekend break.
Memorials to the book burning , right under our feet, and to the holocaust victims were sensitivity introduced and various interpretations of their meanings were discussed at an appropriate level.
Overall a tour that we would highly recommend and was the starting point for all the further visits we made over the rest of the weekend. The finishing point at one of the best xmas markets was a bonus .
