This was a tour I've wanted to do for a long while and I really enjoyed it. Finn, the tour guide, clearly has a great passion for the city.

We signed up for a Potsdam tour with Original Berlin Walks on the recommendation from a guide we had in Munich, and didn't regret it. Dennis, our guide, was excellent - he was extremely knowledgeable, and also struck a perfect balance between being informative and entertaining, expertly interspersing history with anecdotes. Even though the group comprised of people of varied ages, Dennis somehow always managed to keep the walks well-paced, and always looked out for all of us. There was a road diversion during the tour, which resulted in some detours and the tour being extended by nearly 2 hours, but Dennis carried on without complaint, and constantly apologised for the detours even though he clearly had no control over them! Highly recommend Berlin Walks - and ask for Dennis if you can!

Our first visit to Berlin, somewhere we've wanted to go for a long time. A friend recommended the walking tour and my somewhat reluctant husband (hates tagging along in groups) agreed. Our brains have never worked so hard on holiday - if Alex LaRocca's mum is reading this, his 4+ hour 'Berlin Highlights' walking tour was brilliant, insightful, entertaining and massively interesting. 'LaRocca' knows his stuff and is clearly passionate about German history. And my husband thorougly enjoyed himself. Our daughter's question when I was telling her about it: "was it like being guided by Mr Downey (her Art History teacher with a passion for everything Renaissance) around Florence?" Yes, it was - thanks, Alex, it was a privilege to spend that time with you.

Yesterday we took this tour with our excellent guide Kevin.

We already knew this was going to be a long day - it's advertised as being a 6 hour tour - but although it WAS 6 hours, Kevin's well informed, detailed and very excellently delivered talks during the tour made the time whizz by, and it certainly didn't seem like 6 hours.

The memorial itself is somewhat disappointing as this one, unlike others in the old West Germany (ie Dachau), has undergone post war use and "sanitation" by the old communist authorities, meaning a lot of the artifacts and buildings are no longer there, which removes the "in your face" effect of the likes of Dachau.

Nonetheless it is still worth a visit, and if you are lucky enough to get Kevin as your guide you will learn more than enough, patiently explained, to make up for this.

We definitely recommend this tour.

We had Dennis for this tours; the best tours we've ever had. Dennis really knows his history, is a great storyteller, and made Berlin come alive. From Hitler, burning of the books, religious history, Jewish History/tragedy, Bradenburg gate--many fascinating places & stories
