We visit family in Berlin, and have stayed at Berliner Bed and Breakfast several times now (we were there last week). Big rooms with comfortable beds in an attractive older building - high ceilings and some ceiling decoration. (The one single room is understandably smaller, but not claustrophobic - and it has a nice blue and white Wedgwood theme.) All the rooms are on the ground floor. They aren't en suite, but there are two bathrooms plus an extra loo, not far from any bedroom, and we've never found ourselves queueing up!
Breakfast time is almost infinitely flexible - a great continental breakfast, prepared just for you, is always in the fridge awaiting you, to be eaten in the attractive dining/sitting room by the entrance, accompanied by coffee (espresso or instant), a range of teas, and fruit juice. It's the sort of place where more often than not you get talking over breakfast with other guests, from all over the world.
Andreas and Maria are very welcoming and helpful, and there is a good selection of guidebooks about Berlin and surrounding areas, in several languages.
The location is excellent - quite central (though I suspect no one exactly knows where the centre of Berlin is...) with both U-bahn and S-Bahn stations within five minutes' walk, and convenient bus routes nearby too.
All in all, great value and highly recommended.More
