“Wish I could give it 5”
Reviewed 2 January 2014

Lovely meal, amazing Pizza, great choice of toppings and detailed menu (in German/Italian.)

Slight issue with language - wasn't entirely sure whether to try to speak German, Italian or English.

My girlfriend had something in her pizza resembling a piece of glass. Had this caused damage we would surely have complained however luckily she was fine.

“Very authentic pizza... highly recommended”
Reviewed 23 November 2013

There is nothing like authentic neopolitan style pizza to revive your health after partying in the Mitte and sightseeing for a few days. With solid reviews, we decided to give this place a try. Exceeded our expectations by far. The octopus in spicy tomato sauce sounded like a good place to start, shared between us... it was huge and tasted amazing. The timing was ideal, we were given just enough time to digest before the star of the show arrived... a 'diavolo' pizza featuring spicy salami and olives as well as a 'margherita' custom ordered with salsiccia. The crust was amazing, thin and a bit wet towards the middle with a nice charred and chewy crust... thanks go to a proper wood fired oven. The sauce was tangy and the mozzarella sweet with just a hint of sourness. The salsiccia was authentic italian sausage, course ground with fennel - absolutely stunning. The pizza menu is very broad and creative, but feel free to customize as you wish. Highly recommended for pizza afficianados... we WILL be back! Also note that although it's located in the northern part of the Mitte, it is worth the 15 minute walk if you are closer to the river.

“Pasta and Pizza Like in Italy”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

I was in town for the Marathon and I had to load on carbs; i decided to have the Orecchiette and the Pizza. I was surprised to find such a good italian food far from our own country.
The hospitality and the warm atmoshpere reminded me of the noisy italian trattoria/pizzeria; the service is like in italy friendly and nice.
Will surely go back next time.

“Authentic”
Reviewed 31 July 2013

In a city filled with Italian restaurants (especially in the Torstrasse area) this is one of the best. Excellent antipasto platter and salads. We didn't have pizza this time, but they look really good. Everything made to order. Decent wine list; wine by glass, carafe as well. Friendly service in English, Italian or German. A lively scene til Midnight on a beautiful street in Berlin, Mitte.

“The real deal for pizza in Mitte.”
Reviewed 2 July 2013

Papa Pane serves great thin crust pizza from a brick oven with a great range of topping. The tomato sauce is fresh and flavorful. Decent wines and good beer selection to complement the food. Don't miss this place for great food at a price that will not burn a hole in your wallet.
