“Good Place, Good Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2012

We have spent almost a week there in March. The building is quite new (or just renewed) and modern from outside to inside. The staff were really kind and helpful, and you can find lots of information about programs and possibilities to spend the time well in Berlin. Our room was on the top floor with a perfect view to the TV tower and the city. In the room there is no unnecessary equipments, only what you need - cupboard, table with chairs, TV, bedsides, mirror. This room was enough spacious for two persons. Also the bathroom. The room wasn't the cleanest one.

You can buy ticket to the public transport there, and Berlin Card is also available. In the rooms there is no WLAN access for free (2€ for an hour, 3€ for 2 hours), only at the lobby, but sometimes you can'f find free place there. There are only paid parking, 15€ for a day, or 10€ if you buy parking ticket at the reception. It better to leave the car somewhere else. So the room price could be good, but with some additional costs the total price can be much more higher.

The location of the hotel/hostel is really good, there is an U-Bahn (subway) station next to the building, and the middle of Berlin, Alexanderplatz is only 2 stops from there. On foot it takes about 15 minutes walk. At the surrounding streets there are lots of café, shops, bars, it's easy to find a place for a breakfast or for hang out. So we never tried the breakfast in the hotel, but I can recommend Café Impala, which is across the road and it's really worth it.

I stayed here with my boyfriend. The room was very clean, though the press on shower of our ensuite bathroom was a but bothersome. The location was nice, just in front of a metro station. Wish it had wifi in rooms, but it was available for free in the lobby, so not a problem. The biggest problem we had was that our room was very hot, since it got sun all morning, so it was not possible to sleep in.

Good things: Location, it's suposse to give to some certain of comfort and cleaniless.
Bad things: The mattress were so hard, and the shower was broken and the water was splashing everything.
You have to do the check out at 10, so soon! But you can pay (as with everything) a bit more and stay there until 1 p.m.
Very expensive for what it is.

The hotel or better the hostel was at the best location I could wanted in Berlin, because it was in the center, and there was a U-Bahn station just in front of the hotel, you can go everywhere in minutes. The room was cleaned everyday of our stay, towels changed and you can ask anything to the reception, young, nice people working there. Our room was at the back side of the hotel, so it was very quiet, I could relaxed and sleep well. There were many young people coming and going from the hotel all the time, we were a couple at our 30s, and I really enjoyed that. You could have free WI-FI at the lobby of the hotel at your phone or PC.
We had a pleasant time in Berlin, and I was glad the hotel was as I expected to be.
But it is a hostel not a hotel, so if you are used with room service and other faccilities not stated at the hostel page, maybe this is not the right choice, otherwise it is OK.

Three shared a private room in Meininger Hostel. The room actually had 6 beds, two bunks and two twin size beds. Nice location, very close to the train station. Pretty centralized for as large as Berlin is. Room was clean, had a private bathroom. Towels/sheets were provided. Staff was very helpful. They have free WIFI in the lounge that is downstairs.

Near transport into the centre, or just a fifteen minute walk. Loads of bike rental places around if you'd rather make it five.
Very friendly helpful staff keen to tell you everything about the city enabling you to have the best time, whatever your interests.
I stayed with girlfriend for two nights in amongst a dorm. There is a large kitchen area which you can store food in and use to prepare meals. Also a very large common area with computer terminal access (you can pay for an hours internet vouccher at reception), don't know about wireless.
Very economically priced. Rooms could have been a little bigger and imaginative, but compfortable and perfunctory enough.
This is a large property however, with many rooms per floor, so if there are noisy people staying, you may very well notice it!

Room Tip: Ask to stay in a floor that has as little other people staying on it. Also, the hostel is actualy s...

The location is great since you can walk down to Alexanderplatz and since the U-Bahn station is outside the hotel entrance.
The area is very lively with many cafes, restaurants and bars.
The rooms are ok but could be a little bigger. Sleeping quality was ok but some noise was existing from other rooms but did not bother much.

Room Tip: We were in the 7th floor and since the hotel was really crowdy it might take a while to get to the 7...
