“Best japanese restaurant in Berlin”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2011

prices are more than fair, quality is perfect. the chef and owner worked in japan before, than for severa lyears at Kikaku in Düsseldorf, before he opened this place about 7 years ago in Berlin. You always see the same people as many return. Booking essential. Lunch is perfect.

“Excellent sushi”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2011

This is a very popular resturant that serves excellent japenese food. We have been several times and it always seems busy. It is not the most comfortable or relaxed setting but the food makes up for any shortcomings in that area.

“Very authentic flavor and service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2011

All over I was very happy with our lunch at Sasaya. The Salmon-Ikura don was great, but compared to dishes like this in Japan, they were a bit stingy on the fish. But the flavor hit the spot. Setting and service are nice and I could imagine becoming a regular if I lived close by. All staff spoke Japanese, which is usually a good sign. Pricing is very reasonable.

Very much recommended.

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2011

We ordered three kinds of maki rolls and were quite disappointment since they are too cheap with the fish. Especially the eel and tuna maki were mostly rice...

“Go there now!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2011

Amazing place. Great food. Sooo good. The place that put me on to sushi originally. Amazing. Out of the way, pretty busy, popular and not very fancy at all but the food is superb especially if you like sushi or just want to give it a try. its a nice change from all the various wursts!
