Imposing cathedral to visit but couldn't find an English guide to read/speak to so we didn't stay very long. Walked round and astonished to find that much of the impressive columns and stonework is actually painted on. I grant you that from a distance they have done a very impressive job but I was a little disappointed. I assume it was badly damaged some time ago and now been restored as the crypt was original stonework. You have to go when you're there but I did think it was over rated and really they haven't tapped into the English tourist money yet when there is such an opportunity to do so..

Do not expect who knows what.
Is an impressive church, well kept and well maintained.
Nothing in particular.

We visited the mummies in the basement area with a native Bremener. They charge a small fee. Less than $2 each, and there are about 10 mummies to look at. It is interesting to see. There are English sub texts for all of the displays.

St. Peter's has a lot of unique features-- a double nave, wooden carvings, creches during the Christmas Market--but my favorite is the mouse to the right of the altar.

Not just another ancient Cathedral, this one gave access to several underground crypt areas. The one under the nave was called the Silent Room, or some such. I sat in there for half an hour and listened to the silence. It was profoundly beautiful in ways that cannot be described in words.
