The restaurant is by far the best restaurant in Bremen. We live in London and whenever we are in Bremen, this is the restaurant we have to come to.
We have been to this restaurant 5 times over the past few years and each time we are never disappointed. In fact, each time we attend, the food gets more and more exceptional..
This time, we came for the new year's eve dinner, which was a six course spectacular.
As we are regulars - as one can be coming from London - they made an English version of the special menu for me. This was a lovely touch and shows the level of detail the front of house goes to.
The first course after the amuse bouche was the smoked eel soup and smoked fish. Simply divine. The second course was lobster with salsify and seafood foam. Delicious.
The third course of scallops, sea urchin foam, winter truffle and artichokes was perfect. The fourth course of fried foie gras with a dark beer reduction was impressive. The fourth dish of deer with artichokes, brussel sprout leaves and chestnuts, looked and tasted fantastic. The fifth course of melted Faleggio cheese, olive bread and tomato was a nice interlude before the delicious desert of a chocolate mousse tart with passion fruit ice cream.
The Chef Mr Ladenberger is a master of combining flavors and textures together.
The price maybe high compared to other restaurants in Bremen, but this is Michelin star quality without the kudos.
We have been to several one, two and three star restaurants around the world and this little restaurant on the back streets of Bremen is up there with them.
Go, you will not be disappointed.
