This is an interactive museum. I did my tour in English. You are given a swipe card and you swipe the card at each station and you can hear the stories of the people.

This museum gives a person a sense of what it was like to emigrate out of Germany.

Very well presented.

The museum starts out at the waiting hall in Bremerhaven and ends in New York as the immigrants arrive.

There is also a computer station where you can trace your ancestors.

The museum opens at 10 am - 6 for summer hours.

Centrally located.

This museum is amazing! You really get a feel for what your ancestors went through to get to America. Very interactive so no one will be bored.

Very well done with a unique presentation. You get your "ticket to America" and follow your character's journey from Bremerhaven to the US. You get to "experience" the voyage in everything from sailing ships up to modern steamers. You really get a feeling for the voyages that 1000's and 1000's took. If you are descended from German stock it becomes even more meaningful. At the end you can find out what life your character led in the US. Fascinating!

This is a fine museum. We went to Bremerhaven to pick up a new car from the port and ran into this museum while we whiled away and evening walking. My husband's family immigrated from Germany - through Bremerhaven so walking through this museum was very meaningful!
