“Versailles with Sausages!”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

Timed entry tickets, with audio guide is very informative, included in the price. it takes about 30 minutes to go through the rooms.
Lots of great gilding and rococo details.
The gardens are also wonderful and huge.
Don't skip the separate painting gallery building. they have an excellent Caravaggio- though the pieces are hung opposite windows so the glare can be frustrating.
Don't skip the funny chinoiserie tea house! it's very odd but interesting.
Lots of fun stuff to see here

“Most impressive from outside”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

This small castle is most impressive looked upon from the fountain at the bottom of the stairs leading up. The audioguided tour through the only 12 rooms take 30 minutes and the speak gives you a lot of info about other things. We had pre-booked a time-slot for our visit and could proceed directly to the entrance. However the place was quite crowded and we had both to walk in line and wait.

“palace visit”

Excellent day out. Enjoyed the palace visit. The palace is situated in a lovely countryside in Germany. I had the largest chocolate éclair in a station bakery at Potsdam!.

“Lovely palace and gardens”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

Enjoyed the lovely gardens and small lakes. The church next to it has a beautiful mosaic painting- and it's free to go in and see it. Palace only has 8 rooms to see- but the audio guide was pretty good. Beware the cranky staff security in the rooms as you tour- no one said to remove my small backpack purse- then in the second room he got all upset that I was still wearing it and not carrying it instead. Strange. Coffee at snack shop across street from palace has horrible coffee for 4 euro. Avoid.
