Pros: The Brandenburger Tor was perfectly acceptable. Most of the staff were nice and spoke English. The lady who checked us in was super kind and marked a route on a map for us to see the sights. The room was clean and did have slippers and a hair dryer. The internet was free (although a little slow). The location was central and convenient with many attractions near by (the Brandenburger Tor literally right next to the hotel) and easy access to busses and trams. They let us leave our luggage before we checked in and after we checked out of the room.

The room is EXACTLY as the photos posted by ABasic in Nov 2012.

Cons: The room was tiny. The bathroom was very tight. The air conditioning was not working and they told us the hotel was full so they could not offer us another room. We were very hot and could not keep the windows open due to mosquitoes. One of the lights were also not working (but we didn't complain).

Amenities (Q-tips, klennex, etc) in the bathroom were not replenished throughout our 3 night stay. The pad of paper had only one sheet left and there were no pens.

It was odd that they only had 1 bathrobe in the room (for two people). We had to ask for a extra one, which they brought up without quibble.

The breakfast was mediocre. The food was edible, but not much to desire. The highly desired food items were often out and not refilled. The tables were not cleared and reset in a timely manner.

The hotel was a complete maze. To get to our room, you had to go through one corridor o the elevator, then take it 1 floor, then navigate through a number of corridors to a second elevator and then down a few more corridors. However, I do note they are in a central location which may be the reason for the odd design.

Overall: Perfectly acceptable. Considering the other reviews, it was less than I expected, but still a solid experience.

let me first say how kind the staff were especially the English speaking lady..she handled us beautifully. Room were very nice but we had issues with the shower being too hot. However, I am sure they corrected that. Parking is across the street in public garage but you can drop off your luggage at the hotel. Location..perfect and the setting is beautiful. I loved how clean the rooms were as well.

Room Tip: request the larger rooms.

We stayed here for 1 night in March. Check in / Out was easy. The room was clean, beds really comfy and the walk in shower amazing.
The room was furnished to a high standard and came with extras like hair dryer - face towels, slippers / ropes/ extra pillows/ matress toppers etc.
Breakfast was great, served in the white room downstairs until 1030am. We used the bar in the evening and drinks weren't that expensive.
The complimentary water in the room was sparkling but I guess this is down to personal preference.

Its centrally located, great for exploring potsdam. I was also able to take advantage of going for a run early in the morning as its close to sancoussi park. There is an underground carpark outside.
We found a great cheap resataurant located within a few mins walk. Through the Tor near the underground carpark. Restaurant Contadino.

Hotel is a 15 min walk from central station or you can jump on tram or buses which stop either end of the street.( 5 min journey) The Berlin ABC card is valid on the buses / trams here and you can buy tickets on the automated machines on the buses as well. Tram 93 will take you to Glietche Bridge.

The hotel is located at the top end of the main shopping street in the centre of Potsdam adjacent to the "Brandenburger Tor" (the Potsdam one, not to be confused with the one in Berlin), right in the old "Holländisches Viertel" (Dutch District).
The hotel is barely two years old and apart from being new it is tastefully decorated with a real quality feel, yet mainatins a cosy atmosphere. The staff are helpful and friendly and parking is in the courtyard of the rear.
Prices - given it's a 4 Star - are more than reasonable.
I can highly recommend a stay in this hotel, whether you're traveling on business or for leisure (kids under 3 stay free - which may matter to some).

Room Tip: Some rooms on the first floor have a terrace/balcony and although deprived of a real view (they look out ove the inner courtyard), these might be an interesting option in the warmer seasons.

Really enjoyed an overnight stay at this hotel. Delightful, convivial atmosphere with none of that 'international brand feel'. Very comfortable rooms with good bathrooms. Excellent breakfast, easy parking and friendly, helpful staff. Not sure you need much more! We ate next door at the Matador and charged the bill to our rooms. Again excellent service, good food and very friendly. Potsdam is certainly worth a detour.
