Wonderful apart-hotel.
Great location, approx a 10 minute walk into the centre of the city.
We had standard room which was very spacious, with a brilliant little kitchen area, complete with dishwasher!
Comfy bed, black out blinds for a great nights sleep.
Everything was spotlessly clean.
Lovely sauna/swimming pool, but we ran out of time to use it!
Great bakery and supermarkets very close by.
Reception staff very friendly and spoke English!!
We will definitely be using Adina Hotels again!

My wife booked two rooms for a 4 night stay here for our family. It's a great place to stay. Our rooms were very comfortable and, as we had requested quiet rooms, we were put on the 7th floor overlooking the courtyard which proved to be a very peaceful location. The rooms themselves were very well equipped for self catering with cooker, fridge, dishwasher etc.

The location is perfect with two supermarkets, a bakery and an ATM about two minutes walk away and the Großneumarkt a couple of minutes further on where there are several restaurants and bars. The nearest S Bahn station is only about 10 minutes walk.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful and when we had a slight problem with the heating in one of our rooms they dealt with it without delay.

We didn't use the restaurant, bar or leisure facilities so can't comment on them although the pool did look very inviting.

So, why only a 4 out of 5 rating? Well for some inexplicable reason the management have chosen not to provide guests with free wi-fi. Not a deal-breaker in itself but a source of considerable irritation. Yes, Wi-fi is free in the reception area and you can get a voucher for a free half hour of wi-fi in the room but it involves traipsing down to reception every time you need to log on which quickly becomes tiresome. Wi-fi is no longer a novelty and, in my view, should be provided free for this standard of hotel. Reading other reviews, I am not the only one to raise this point but the hotel seems to have chosen to continue with this strange policy.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room ask for one on the 7th floor overlooking the inner courtyard.

We recently stayed here for three night's to celebrate my birthday. Check in was quick but with the most miserable and unhelpful member of staff I've come across in a long time. My German may not be perfect but I made an effort and know that I can be understood but I had to repeat myself every time and there was no offer of speaking English, no "have a nice stay", no nothing. Fortunately the receptionist we met on check out couldn't have been more different.

The apartment itself was amazing - much bigger than expected and with a lovely comfortable bed. No light came in from the curtains (a bugbear of mine!) and extremely quiet so a great night's sleep was had. Location was hard to beat - on the S1 straight from the airport to Stadthausbrucke and then everywhere else was walkable or use the S1 again / U-Bahn at St Pauli - a couple of minutes walk away. Fabulous shower.

There were a few minor quibbles - as nearly everyone else has mentioned, the lack of free wifi in a hotel of this standard is frankly ridiculous in this day and age; we de-camped to a Starbucks when we needed to get online. The room temperature - as is common in hotels everywhere - ranged from hot to scorching but we kept the windows open and were not disturbed by noise.

The bathroom needed more light. How my husband managed to shave is beyond me as the corner where the shaving mirror was had no light reaching it at all. Finally a guide to the hotel in the room would have been nice - where the pool was and its opening hours, check out time etc.

Would definitely choose Adina again if wifi was included.

Dear Albannach1876,

thank you very much for your feedback. It was a pleasure to welcoming you at the hotel.

Thank you also for your comment on our reception team, speaking english not so well. Please be assured that we take this seriously. Furthermore I have followed up with the receptionist and we thought you like to speak german. We would like to apologize that you did not experience the service quality we normally deliver at reception and which is evident by other praising Tripadvisor comments.

Happy that you like the apartment and location - so we are looking forward to your next stay.

Kind regards

Highly recommended!
We had a good size room with a well equipped kitchenette and a comfy seating area. The location of the hotel is great (try the pastries at the bakery a few doors down) and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Really good value too.

We stayed at Adina for 4 nights in March for my wife's birthday. We had got a good deal on a studio room and flight with expedia but when we arrived Adina upgraded us to a one bedroom apartment. We had stayed in Adina in Berlin and as they were so good that is the reason for choosing Adina Hamburg. This Adina was in a great location for getting about the city. We walked almost everywhere. Two supermarkets very nearby. NB TIP If you arrive on a Sunday the supermarkets are not open so if you want milk etc make sure you get it at airport or train station. Thanks to reception at Adina for giving us a jug of milk for our English tea in the morning. All kitchen items supplied incl washing up liquid and sponge. Oven is also a microwave.
The apartment as in Berlin was fantastic and hard everything you needed. Spotless clean and staff could not do enough for you. No you do not get free wifi all the time in the room. NB TIP We found that if you got a public area pass it actually worked in the room and we were on the 5th floor! You will not be disappointed with Adina Hamburg. TIP The nearest train station is Stadthausbrucke which can be reached direct from the airport by S1 train( check the stops on the electronic board. It will not list Stadthausbrucke but if it has others on the route after it will stop there). If you are not going to use train ticket again that day only pay for 3 euro ticket per person as that will get you the 25 min journey to the hotel. When you exit Stadthausbrucke take StMichael route and follow main road towards the church on opposite side of road from church. Turn in side street opposite church and you will see a bakery. Look to your left and there is Adina. Any questions feel free to ask!

We chose the Adina at the end of a stay in Germany as we wanted to be able to wash and re-pack before a holiday. The location is great - I was able to walk to all my appointments around the city and was close to tourist areas too. We had booked a package including a boat cruise. The one bedroom apartment was comfortable and had a good kitchen and washing machine/dryer (but they charge E1 for a washing powder tablet! Just buy a small sachet from Rewe supermarket next door for E1 and this did us three washes). In the local area there are several supermarkets.

The swimming pool is large and there is also a sauna and fitness centre.

Our only major complaint is the lack of free wifi - every other hotel in Germany we stayed at offered it for free - here it is free in the lobby only and you have to ask for a log in paper from reception. It is really not good enough today.

We also found the breakfast to be lacking a potato dish as a hot dish and some items were not replaced very quickly.

I would consider staying again if they decide to offer free wifi in the room.

We were there during our family trip. No complaint at all except for some confusion initially during check-in but it was all sorted out nicely. Big clean, spacious apartment with all the necessities from oven, electric stove, dishwasher, washing machine and drier. There is also few supermarket nearby and even a fresh market situated close by where you can buy fresh products. The nearest U station is at St Pauli - 300 metres from the hotel and you can get connected to places in Hamburg. You can even jog at the park near the Hotel. One guy at the receptionist is really fantastic - find Dennis and he will help you with an ease.
Definitely will come back.
