Everything about this hotel is excellent. The staff were friendly, offered to assist with tourist information and helped with bookings and language translations, the room was spacious and well appointed, the bed and chairs comfortable, the breakfast and dinners of a high quality, and location very good also. Cannot fault it.

I have stayed here several times on business. This trip is combined business and pleasure. Staff in all areas are friendly, clean and well presented and extremely helpful. Their English is alot better than my German which is good. Just one down side. The hotel has a spa alongside. It is free for guests to use the gym and pool between 7am and 12 noon, however, after that the charge is €17,50 each!!!!! Would be nice after work to wind down with a swim, but those costs only wind me up!!!!

It is clear after one night at the Madison why it has made the top 25 list for hotels in Germany. Despite it's very central location and proximity to the underground, about 3-4 minutes walk, the hotel has a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere sited at the crossroads of four relatively quiet and low traffic streets.
At first glance you wouldn't guess that the hotel was 18 years old. Everything has been maintained to immaculate standards. The current interior is contemporary and a lot of thought has gone into the spatial design. We couldn't fault the rooms. The toilet and bathroom areas were fitted to the highest standards and the lighting gave you the choice of many different moods. The beds were firm, comfortable and finished with excellent linen.
At check in we were greeted by friendly and efficient staff who couldn't be more obliging. The breakfast layout was superb. Great variety, fresh ingredients and prompt table service. The WiFi usage was not unlimited but a generous amount allocated for reasonable web use and emails. The business centre provided a PC desktop with internet connection and a printing service.
We booked through booking.com at an excellent rate of 130 euros per night and the administration of the booking was seamless. Overall this hotel deserves all the accolades it has received.

This is a really well-appointed, central hotel, with great, friendly English-speaking staff who just can't do enough for you. My room was enormous, elegantly decorated, with a huge TV (countless channels, but remember that the Germans dub everything and there are no subtitles!) and cooking facilities. Even the mini-bar is relatively cheap. The restaurant is excellent, with some outdoor tables, and the breakfast buffet is superb. Well worth 16 euros.

The Madison is about five minutes walk from the river (and the tour buses) and pretty much everywhere you'd want to see is within walking distance. Don't forget to go up the tower of St Michael's church for a panoramic view of the city (but I'd advise taking the lift, unless you're very fit).

All in all, I can't recommend the hotel highly enough.

Room Tip: Mine was on the top floor and had a double-aspect - very peaceful.

What a welcoming hotel this is - and what a great room. Loads of space, cooking facilities and a mini-bar that isn't a rip-off. The staff are really helpful, the restaurant is very good value and the breakfast buffet, while not cheap, is excellent. It's easy to reach by U-bahn and is about 5 minutes walk from the riverfront (good place to get your tour bus) and St Michael's church 9amazing views from the tour but don't try the stairs unless you're really fit!), while probably everything else you'd want to see is within walking distance. I loved it and would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: I had a room on the top floor with a double aspect, which was delightful.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights to attend a wedding. The rooms are really spacious, clean and modern and all the hotel staff are so polite and helpful. Great location within easy walking distance of city centre and the Elbe. Easy 5 minute walk from Stadthausbrucke station. We have stayed in some wonderful hotels all over the world and this one is definitely in the top five. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Room Tip: All rooms appear to be of the same high standard. Quiet streets outside so no problem with noise.

We went there to stay the night before going to a wedding near Hamburg and were overwhelmed by the great hotel and the excellent service. Also had a very good dinner in the restaurant and a couple of drinks in the bar afterwards which were also really nice. Thumbs up!
