“Happy in Hamburg”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2014

We stayed in the Radisson Blu for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The location is very convenient and you can easily walk everywhere and the train station is outside the hotel .

The rooms are comfortable and the decor is stylish.

The breakfast buffet has a wide selection of choices and the quality is good too.

You can see the park- Planten un Blomen from the hotel as well as views of the water.

Overall, would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Request a room higher up as there won't be any noise from the train station.

Definitely one of the best stays my husband and I have ever had.
Great hotel, great room, great location, great experience.

We stayed for three nights during easter period, in a Standard Double Room for 110 euros per night. The room seemed not standard at all actually! Great design, clean, with a nice view. Wifi signal was also very good.

The breakfast we did not try, it was too expensive. No regrets thought, there are great bakeries in the city center just 10 min away.

My only minor "complain" is that the reception lady we spoke offered to us the hotel's parking facility as the only parking possibility in the area (which you need to pay extra of course). We found out really quickly that there was free parking under the bridge just a few meters away from the hotel.

The bar/club on the ground floor is also really nice, we had some nice coctails there.

Would definitely recommend this hotel compared to others in the same price range.

We chose this hotel for it's close proximity to the Marathon start/finish and Expo. Turned out to be a great choice. Right on the corner of the beautiful park, Planten un Blomen and with easy walking distance of everything. The room was clean and functional with a great shower. A little bit pricey, but worth it in this instance. We were lucky enough to get a room on the 25th floor that had amazing panoramic views out over Hamburg's water.

Room Tip: Go high for a good view.

This hotel ticks all the boxes. Clean, quiet & dark room (important for shift work). Room service was great. Free coffee machine to make espressos, etc available before breakfast especially when starting work before the breakfast starts. Nice cocktails in the bar downstairs and superb treatments in the spa. The lomi lomi massage is highly recommended

Room Tip: High up to get the view

My first stay at this hotel where I had a business room which apparently was a bit nicer. The best part was the location on 20th floor with a perfect view over the Elb and the botanic garden, really stunning.
The bed was nice and the rest of the room fine too, but I did not spend a lot of time here. In the morning you can run along the Elb and if you do a round it was 9 km in very nice location. After working up an appetite I entered the breakfast buffet with a huge selection of very nice food.
My only negative experience at my stay was the parking. If you arrive in car you easily find the garage and get your car parked. But when you leave you cannot pay the parking on your room bill and have to do it separetely. And it was a bit tricky to find the garage as it is very poor direction. When you then leave it gets tricky as you drive through the garage insert your ticket and get out - only to meet a new parking automat. Here you take a new ticket and then you continue and can insert it in the final automat ???? Talking to my colleagues later I found it was not only me who was confused.

Dear guest,

thank you for your review. It's a great pleasure to hear that you enjoyed your overall stay with us. We regret that you experienced challenges with the parking garage and have forwarded your feedback to the appropriate person for him to deal with, so that this will not become an issue for future guests. As it is run by an external company we unfortunately do not have any influence on the operational side of the business.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything else we can do for you to make your next stay even better. We look forward to welcoming you again.

Having been to this hotel in the past, we were happy to see that the quality and the professionalism of the staff was still at the same high level. 2 minutes' walk from the train station and close to public transport makes it the perfect spot to arrive without a car. You can walk to Hamburg's main square in 20 minutes or by bus it takes you 5. The hotel has also got rental bicycles and the Filini restaurant offers great food. On the lower side there are the high cost for breakfast, the lack of computer terminals for discretionary use and the disappearance of the indoor pool..

I have stayed at this hotel before and was very impressed. Everything is exactly as you'd expect - acessible internet, great facilities and good customer service. Also great value. My only gripe was that I had to wait in quite a long queue to check in but everything elese worked well. I would recommend to anyone visiting central Hamburg.
