This hotel has 27 floors and is the highest hotel in Hamburg. Myself and my wife stayed here and found it very easy to get to the tourist attractions from it. The ground floor has the reception desks, were staff are quick, efficient and helpful. There is a bar were you can drink inside or outdoors, and an Italian restaurant. We only ate here once, a pizza each but weren't overly impressed!
However, our room on the 15th floor was very nice. A view of Hamburg and the lakes, and a railway station. It had large, comfortable twin beds, a kettle, a desk, a flat screen TV, a fridge and wardrobes. In addition a toilet and shower room, for which the blinds are essential:-)
Wi-fi was good everywhere except for outside the bar.
All in all a very nice hotel and I don't hesitate to recommend it.

Room Tip: Higher up and facing the lakes for a great view!

I recently stayed here for over a month so I can say with authority that this is a very fine hotel in a good location in Hamburg. While it does take you a little bit of time to get to some of the sights, the hotel boasts amenities and a decent restaurant downstairs, meaning that you do not have to venture out if you are there on business. The breakfast had good variety and depth, however sometimes the service was a bit slow in responding to requests.

The rooms are of a very good standard, though some of them might need updating soon. If you can manage it, the "business class" rooms boast a good espresso maker and a few more little amenities.

The higher floors (especially the top floor, which you have to reach through some stairs) have a very poor wi-fi connection, so avoid those.

Overall, a very nice, functional property that I would return to, though probably not on a family/couples holiday.

Room Tip: Avoid the top floors, bad wi-fi connection and avoid the hotel during the convention season, where t...

The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. Rooftop bar has amazing views. The location of the hotel is brilliant being close to the city centre and a train station. The botanical gardens are right next to the hotel. Would definitely stay here next time I visit Hamburg.

My wife and I visited Hamburg for 2 days as a surprise for my wife's birthday
Hotel very good It's right next to train station and about 25mins from airport ( 1 change at main station - same platform - only 1 stop)
Staff very helpful , breakfast excellent and rooms very good - we were upgraded to 27th floor due to conferences being on in hotel
Located right next to a wonderful park which stretches all the way down to the docks
Could spend a whole day in park ! Lots of seats, little restaurants, bistros to eat and drink
Beautiful gardens and ponds/ river
Hotel only 15 mins walk to city centre with lots of good restaurants and bars and shops Lake in centre
Very classy city Ideal for city trip
Only downside is hotel quite expensive but worth it for special trip

Room Tip: All rooms have good views but higher floors better

Had a lovely stay at the Radisson Blu. Very easy to get to from the airport; take to S1 and change at Hamburg Hauptbahnhof (the main station) and walk accross the platform to get the S21 or S31 to Dammtor. The hotel is right next to Dammtor Station. Had a great view from my 13th floor window over the Alster. The huge Planten un Blomen park that backs on to the hotel is beautiful, the light and sound show at the large central lake at 10pm is a must see. Room was modern and spacious, with a very comfortable bed. The lobby bar is small but nice, had a good burger and some beers, and had lunch at the Filini restaurant, also good. Both meals were pricey but not outrageously so. Mini bar prices are on par with bars in town. The gym is small but functional, used the steam room which was fine. Be aware though, many patrons go nude!! Overall would recommend this hotel.

Have stayed here for years. Trader Vic's great restaurant, swimming pool and great views. Last trip restaurants dumbed down to usual hotel fare and swimming pool gone. Seems to have been downgraded. What a shame. Not bad for its new segment but would not stay again. It used to be so special.

The overall feel of the hotel was great. Everything was clean and modern, the staff was helpful and professional and the breakfast buffet was great. The only big flaw was that that the Wi-Fi in our room was so terrible that we had to go to the lobby to use the internet, something that should not be a problem on this kind of hotel.
