“Nice them, good service and comfortable”

The hotel is very well themed and rooms are very nautical! I stayed one night and had a queen room (be careful not to book a bunk bed room!). The rooms have a nice shower and work station. The service in the restaurant is good with good prices but I avoided breakfast at 18EUR and ate at a cafe around the corner.

Room Tip: dont choose bunk beds unless you like them

I stayed here on business and at first was a litlle suprised by the hotels style when I arrived. It's not a conventional business hotel and is a little bit quirky. However the staff were very welcoming and helpful.
My room was a little on the small size in comaprison to other hotels I have stayed at in Hamburg and the bed was a little to hard for my liking. But itherwise the rooms are clean and functional.
Breakfast was very good with a large selection of items (hot and cold) from the breakfats buffet and a good selection of teas, coffee's etc.
The best thing about this hotel is that they have an vinyl room. No not some weird fetish facility but a room filled with old vinyl recorda and two turntables where yoy can relax and play whatever LP takes your fancy through headphones or through some pretty top class Bose speakers whilst enjoying a drink. Brilliant!

Room Tip: Ask for a room along the corridor away from the lifts as they appear to be slightly larger and if yo...

I have used this hotel a few times now - it is a good quality hotel, relaxed with a small and familiar feeling, and a funky maritime theme that ties it in to its Hafen City surroundings. If you are staying in Hamburg for a weekend, or simply looking for something different on a business trip - you should definitely give this a try.

I have visited dozens of hotels whilst travelling on business. They all sort of blend into one amorphous ‘business hotel’ memory. Not this one. I’ll admit I was a little un-nerved on arrival as this was like no business hotel I had stayed in before. If you’re expecting a musack-filled reception with a dark wood reception desk, probably with some polished brass embelishments, then look elsewhere. My first thought was that it was clearly a hip and trendy designer place and I wasn’t really a hip and trendy designer person so wouldn’t like it. However I quickly revised my opinion and discovered I really did like it. It wasn’t trying hard to be hip and trendy for the sake of it, it was just a good quality, good value hotel with a different ethos and outward appearance.

Reception appeared to be constructed from pallets and shipping containers and hints at a focus on the environment and recycling. My room was another design surprise, being fashioned on a ship’s cabin (but a very spacious one) with a travel-inspired feature wallpaper on one wall. A good-size double bed was dressed with a full-size duvet, the desk appeared to be hewn from a large wooden travelling trunk and the large windows overlooked the harbour area. The bathroom was spacious and included a large and effective walk-in shower. Wi-fi was strong and there was an ethernet cable option.

I ate in the restaurant for both nights of my stay; the food was good quality and well-presented, which is also true of the breakfast service. The staff were friendly, courteous and efficient and spoke excellent English. The only slight issue I had was a long queue to check-out.

Overall, as I said, I really liked the 25 Hours; it made me smile as well as delivering a good hotel service.

Room Tip: Nice view of the harbour from the front-facing rooms.

This hotel is located in the up-and-coming HafenCity area in Hamburg and has a container ship meets nautical theme with a industrial, yet inviting ambience.

Besides the nice rooms, the hotel offers the übercoolest Smokers Lounge, covered with shelves displaying a large collection of vinyl albums from David Hasselhoff to Led Zeppelin. The two – in the sofa integrated – record players gives you the choice of enjoying the music privately using the headphones or collectively through the speakers. Great idea!

The adjacent smoke-free common room has a clubby and sociable feel to it with low seating arrangements, board games and table football. The hotel restaurant with the homey name Heimat had a delishious menu and a band playing the night we stayed.

We left the hotel a lot more inspired, uplifted and creative than we arrived. That’s what great design does to you and that’s why you once in a while should stay in a Design Hotel and feel the design instead of “just” seeing it in a museum.

Traveled to Hamburg on a weekend break. Choose the hotel because of it's proximity to the Miniatur Wunderland, and the International Maritime Museum. Got to the hotel via the brand new U-4 metro line which has only been open a few months. The Überseequartier station is directly across the street and only two stops away from the main train station. The hotel is gorgeous and takes it's nautical design very seriously with amazing results. It's the most unique hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world! Room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. I could find no fault with it. There is a bank with ATM machines next to the hotel, and an excellent upscale supermarket around the corner. While the Hafencity redevelopment is still a work in progress, the areas that are finished are stunningly beautiful! An urban grand canyon, with a mixture of old and new architecture. In fact there was so much to see and do in the immediate area I never made it to the city center of Hamburg. One of my favorite activities was biking around the area, it's very bike friendly, and very little car traffic. There is a bike rental station just outside the hotel, part citywide bike sharing program. I wanted to eat breakfast at the hotel but there isn't enough seating at the restaurant section, so I would have had to wait in line. Instead I went to the supermarket bought some breakfast items to my room and saved a lot money and time.

Miniatur Wunderland is an amazing one of a kind attraction. It's the world's largest model railway layout, and much more. The details and artistry are top notch. There is a lot to take in, I spent fours hours over two days, and still didn't catch all the "in-jokes". A few doors down is the excellent Speicherstadt Kaffeerösterei coffee company. The have a huge selection of ground coffees from around the world, bags available in lots of sizes. The International Maritime Museum, is a brand-new contemporary institution dealing with all things water. It's a huge place, you'll never see it all in one day . Best to start at the very top floor and work your way down, the lower floors are more geared to kids.

The Harbor area is also interesting (walkable from Hafencity)with it's two historic ships which can be toured. My favorite was the San Diego. Lots of excellent harbor cruises are available. Unfortunately there is only one per day which has english commentary. It's at noon time and the ticket office can be found near bridge four. The cruise lasts around 90 minutes and takes you into the very heart of the working harbor areas, with container ships of all sizes and nationalities. It's a bit industrial but very fascinating. The harbor area also has lots excellent seafood eateries.

A gorgeously designed hotel throughout, in the new harbour area, right opposite a brand new tube station. The rooms are very generous and nice designed, in muted-funky marine style, if that makes sense! (i.e. some fun features but not overpowering, with muted colours and nice textures everywhere). We stayed in a 'L' class, which has high ceilings, lovely beds, lots of room (though wardrobes a bit stingy by comparison), and absolutely amazing showers!

Common spaces are really a joy to behold and hang out in, including a great lounge upstairs, with a generous internet area (several lovely Macs free to use at all times - no log in, even!) - and free wifi throughout. The restaurant/bar/breakfast area is especially welcoming and the food is very good and reasonable.

The area is a huge building site... but no disruption whatsoever when we stayed there. The immediate vicinity is already finished - though one large plot right in front of the hotel may still get something on it.... worth checking with hotel. The being-built-from-scratch character of the larger area (HafenCity) is a love-it or leave-it thing, so not for fans of picturesque villages, but anyone with an interest in architecture, ports, or new things in general would be in for a treat. And the city centre is no more than 15-20mins walk, with the stunning old warehouse part of the old port (Speicherstadt), a mere 5mins. Shops, restaurants, bars etc a-plenty cropping up around rapidly.

Service is friendly but also efficient (not always going together!) and the price is a bargain, considering what you're getting. All in all, not one negative thing to say about this place - except the word of warning re: the one room adjacent to the smokers' lounge (see below 'tip for room'), which is, btw, why the sleeping quality only get a 'Very Good' rather than the 'Excellent' which it would otherwise deserve.

Will be back!

Room Tip: Splurge on a 'L' cabin - they are totally worth it, though NOT no.101, as it is next to the...
