Great price for a five night stay at this hotel. Beds were very comfortable and the Ubahn was about six blocks away. It was about 20 minutes to get to the center of the city. The area is industrial but very safe. People were always walking about. They served breakfast but we went elsewhere. If you have a car, its necessary to park on the street or pay 4.50 euros per night for parking in their security parking. We parked on the street with no problems. There was a 24 hour front desk service. Make sure to go and see Minutur Wunderland. It's fantastic!

Great hotel for the price, room was clean with basic amenities; stove, fridge, and flat screen TV.
Not far from city center and restaurants just around the corner. Friendly staff and bilingual..
I recomend

OK, despite being situated on an Industrial Estate, this hotel gets it right in many ways - unfussy reception staff, reasonably clean and tidy. The food could be better... but hey, we're on a budget, right? WiFi is a bit slow... breakfast is over-engineered.

Stayed here for 2 nights with 3 friends in October. The rooms were clean, but in need of a revamp and the surrounding area is not that nice to look at - but the price was very cheap, so can't complain! You get what you pay for! Staff were friendly and accomodating. It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the city centre, about 10 minutes in a taxi which costs around 10 euro.
Regarding Hamburg itself, we found that there is not much to see or do during the daytime. So, if you are looking for lots of attractions/fun stuff, don't bother! The city is quite big and separated into lots of different areas, so be prepared to do a lot of walking! People are generally very friendly and helpful.
Nighlife is quite good, with plenty of bars around the 'Reeperbahn' area. Have to say, it's a bit sleezy and tackie though!
