Decent clean and reasonably priced little hotel near the reeperbahn. The staff were very helpful and put an extra mattress into the room when a friends other accommodation fell through and he had to stay with us. Breakfast was good and as mentioned although close to the reeperbahn was quiet and comfortable.

When we arrived we were shown to our room told it was more simpler than the other ones and he wasnt kidding. My biggest gripe was no kettle/tea making facilities and the fact that not only were you not allowed any hot food or drink in the rooms - they actually confiscated it if they found any when cleaning your room so make sure you hide anything you want to keep! The beds were very comfy with cosy duvets but pillows a bit naff. We were down in the garden bungalows (which felt like going down to a dungeon) and the roon was pretty small. They're still refurbishing so a bit messy in the walkways etc but the best thing about being in this part of hotel was no noise off the street. Its a 10 minute walk from the Reeperbahn so very handy but still out the way of everything. We paid £200 for 2 people for 3 nights, I dont feel it was worth it at all but this place certainly looked cleaner than other similar priced places so if its all you can get then this is the best of a bad bunch as it was clean, friendly and good location - just hide your drink! :-)

Dear guest,

Thank you for your extensive review. I'm very sorry to read that drinks or food were taken from your room. In our hotel it is not allowed to bring your own alcoholic drinks and to cook in your room (to bring hot food from outside is totally fine with us). Nevertheless the privacy and safety of our guests is the most important for us and therefore we don't take anything while you are not there. I cannot explain this incident, but will make sure that this will never happen again.

We are also sorry about the circumstances around our bungalow rooms. As we equipped all our rooms with brand new beds, you saw all the old ones there, which have now been removed.

We are constantly working to improve the hotel and to make the stay of our guests as pleasant as possible.

We would be pleased if you accept our apology and we hope to welcome you again at the next opportunity in our house, so you can see that we can make it better!

Best regards
Your Hotel Budapester Hof

Very good priced hotel if you are looking for somewhere to sleep, and hit out on the town for a couple of drinks. The beds are very comfortable and the hotel is a 5 minute walk from Reeperbahn where the nightlife is, the room that we had was for 4 people and i was expecting bunk beds, but we got the whole floor to ourselves which was brillant. Staff are also friendly and helped us out with directions.

Great hotel overall and a good trip to hamburg!

Not much in terms of creature comforts, but those can be had exploring the city. Very basic room - we somehow ended up with an open-plan apartment under the roof, with room enough to slepp about seven. It was clean, the beds ok, and it was quiet enough. Very good location to public transport and entertainment. Can be rowdy on nights when soccer is on across the road. Uncomplicated and friendly reception.

Room Tip: out back is quiet

This hotel is for the budget traveller, suitable for mainly groups of males.
Good links to the Reeperbahn and the local FC ST PAULI across the road, if thats your thing.
Reeperbahn is less then ten minutes away by foot.
This hotel is cheap, clean and the reception staff are very good and helpful,
Housekeeping make efforts to change towels every day and get rid of any litter you generate in rooms.
Overall i would recomend this hotel to groups of males on a birthday or stag weekend.
Not really a family hotel in my opinion or the area of ST PAULI.

This hostel was inexpensive, and good value. The room was cleaned every weekday, and the staff were very polite. Our shower broke on our last day there, and the rooms were not 100% sound-proof - we were treated to an X-rated show from people staying two rooms away from us! However, for people looking for a cheaper option, this hostel is perfect. It isn't overly pretty, but perfectly good for a short trip away, and very well-located!

*We stayed here in May 2011, but I can't select that as an option!

Room Tip: The rooms outdoors are a bit of a trek from the main reception, so those with bigger suitcases may w...

It's meant to be a budget hotel yet they don't charge budget prices?? Located in Saint Pauli, an interesting part of town right in the middle of everything, well everything worth seeing by foot. Staff was friendly and breakfast was ok. Rooms were ok sized and clean. That's the good stuff out of the way.

The hotel says it has WiFi?? It doesn't load emails or Facebook it's that slow so NO it doesn't have WiFi. No lift in hotel, this doesn't bother me because I'm young and healthy but this could be a problem for others so get ready to hike. Each room has a TV but NO reception. We booked 3 separate rooms and not one had reception. The beds were average but the pillows were absolutely terrible!!

Budapester! Get the internet fixed, get the TV reception fixed and get some new pillows !! Other then that your location is great but the hotel is only average for the price.
