We made a family trip to Hamburg and had the best weekend ever! We celebrated the 50th birthday of my father in law and the staff at the Arcotel were super friendly and helpful. Everybody tried to work as hard as they could to mke us feel welcome.

When we arrived with our minibus we realized that the bus is too big for the garage of the hotel. So we went inside to ask for options. The lady at the reception gave us many tips and was really helpful.

The breakfast selection was good. The rooms were modern and clean. The bar on the first floor was nice.

Fresh and spotless rooms, although not the most spacious. Reception was friendly and spoke good english. Under the hotel there is a 3 story parking garage that will charge you appx 13€ per day. Very convenient if you are arriving by car! Subway to Rathausmarkt is only 100m walking, or you could walk along all the restaurants at "Lange Reihe" (Much more pleasant than walking along Steindamm).

Hotel has a gorgeous breakfast buffet. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: I got a room at the first floor. Large windows towards street meant privacy was a little compromised...

Unfortunately we could only stay one night at this hotel but it first class, the girls on reception extremely helpful, porter to take luggage to the room which was nice and spacious, one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in and the bathroom was pristine. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean and the highlight was the restaurant, we had dinner, breakfast and lunch and each meal was really great. I had a filet steak for dinner and it was cooked to perfection, certainly one of the best steaks I have ever had. My wife had rack of lamb and received 10 small cutlets again cooked to perfection. The soups and desserts matched the main course and the coffee was superb. Breakfast was excellent and also the lunch. The hotel is well located and you could not stay anywhere better than this. Superb. The group have hotels in other cities and we will certainly be using this group again

Room Tip: We had a room at the rear of the hotel which was very quiet but the restaurant was at the front of...

Comfortable room, pleasant staff, very very nice breakfast and a reasonable price for a 5 night stay.

The room has lots of power outlets if you have to charge up lots of devices. Shower is powerful and hot. Free WiFi is OK for surfing but not streaming content.

All the reception, breakfast, bar and other staff were professional, friendly and effective.

The neighbourhood is fantastic and lively, not at all dangerous... For those of you with such delicate sensitivities that middle eastern people or gay people or the occasional sex worker appears so threatening, then I suggest you never leave your home.

From the middle eastern grocers, we got some really cheap and delicious fruit for snacking. There's a Lidl supermarket across the street for inexpensive provisions. The gay cafe Gnosa nearby is very nice and popular with everyone regardless of sexual orientation. The hotel is also across the street from a police station.

I'd love to return to this hotel if I go to Hamburg again.

I stayed in this hotel for a business trip and had no problems at all. The room and the bathroom were clean and nice. Typical for those kind of hotels, the shower is at the one end of the tub divided from the rest of the room through a movable glass pane.

The room had a comfortable bed, a TV and a mini-bar. I wasn't to sure if you could darken out the room completely as it didn't matter to me. There were complementary apples in the room, prices for mini-bar are normal.

The hotel itself is located in the city however I did not have any problems with loudness or the like. The neighbourhood might be lively but coming nearer to the hotel it is getting less busy.

Breakfast is great and offers a large variety of choices. Many juices, cereals, bread, rolls, fish, eggs, bacon, tea, coffee and so on and on. Service is nice and fast.

I did not try the restaurant however we were sitiing in the bar one evening. Prices are high but for the location ok in my opinion. For example a cocktail is around 9€ or more depending on what you want. A single malt Whisky you can't get for less than 9,50. A beer 0,3l costs 3,50.

So to sum it up: personnel is friendly, no problems with the neighbourhood.

We stayed at Hamburg for two nights at this hotel and we loved it. It's a very nice hotel, nice rooms, with friendly and helpful personell and it has a great location, with a 5 minute walk to Hopbanhof, hamburg's metro and train central station. Also, it's a 2 minute walk to another secondary subway station, so it's all accessibility. The neighborhood could be nicer, I admit - there are many prostitutes and beggars around, but they don't really bother you and honestly I got the feeling they are all over Hamburg these days. Also the hotel's price made up for this, since it was by far the best value for money we found.
We loved the decoration, everything was spotless and the beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast is very very good - we got a good deal for it - and the hotel's bar is very nice to spend the end of the day at.

Room Tip: If you're a couple who likes to snuggle, make sure to ask for a room with a large bed as opposed...

We arrived earlier than expected to the hotel, normally would be nice if they apologize that your room isn't ready yet even tho you get early... Not here. Not even a question about preferences, or inviting you to wait at the restaurant or coffee bar. We were dispatched taking our luggage away (on a room not really well controlled. The guy responsible for the room didn't pay any attention to closing the door correctly. Left the door few times open...).

We are a couple and when finally we could check in we find out our beds were twin bed, not king size... So we had to move our beds together, leaving a gap in between, making it a really "funny" experience. As the hotel was fully booked we weren't offered another room. Also the noise coming from the fitness room, around 10 meters away from us was perfectly audible, and when we complained the front desk staff didn't look surprised at all... Nevertheless they apologized that the fitness studio it's opened till midnight! The bathtub walls were filled in with mold (Black and pretty disgusting) and no amenities kit including soap was offered. The curtains of the room were spilled all around with coffee and really dirty and full of dust. The Internet didn't worked properly and if you wanted high speed you must give then a like on their Facebook page...

At the moment of checking out, the front desk staff asked how was our stay, we let them know about the situation, they didn't offered any discounts or proper apologizes. They looked not really surprised about the complaints. So I guess they are used to that situation.

However the staff on the evening, was helpful giving us advise about where to eat.

If you can stay in any other hotel... Do it.
