Very nice hotel overlooking the harbour. Everything inside is very new, stylish and fancy. Service is fantastic and everything is very clean. Very close the Reeperbahn amusement district, a bit of a walk to public transport but very close to the attractions at the harbour. I was a bit disappointent by the breakfast buffet for the price that you pay.

i stay 1 week at the ERH. i choose this hotel location wise.

the unfriendly front office staff gave us a room in the 4th floor with view on a giant wall. terrible experience for 179 euro excluding breakfast.

the bed was comfortable, but the strnge thing is that it had a king size frame where they placed 2 twin springbeds inside, as well only 2 small blankets. totally un-common for a hotel in this price category.

they call themself designer hotel but beside the pink light in the bar nothing to see of design. they hardly try to be "hip & modern" but the local hospitality attitude ruines all. it appears that no one in this hotel has international hospitality background or an clue what is service about.

location wise the ERH is located well at the end of the famous davidsstrasse at the hamburg red light district "kiez".

Room Tip: choose the upper floors

Stayed 2 nights for business. Hotel was nice enough, breakfast was busy and it was difficult to move around the buffet.
The rooms were nice and modern with ceiling to floor windows, great views. Brilliant shower. Would stay again if away on business.

Stayed 2 nights at a conference in the hotel late June 2012.
Pro's: Well appointed, modern hotel. Clean, comfortable, excellent shower, good food (including the conference buffet). Friendly & helpful staff. Good location between the river and the Reeperbahn so both the family walks & boat trips and the "Adult" entertainments are close by (if you are into that sort of thing - I can't comment on the quality or value of this as I am not into strip clubs or casinos etc but I can confirm the proximity, about a block away). Gym & sauna (German style so be prepared to be relaxed about non sexual nudity).
Cons: The gym is small with limited but adequate machines. No swimming pool. Close to the Reeperbahn so there was a little rowdiness in the middle of the night on one of the two nights (that being said, Germany had just lost at football to Italy and I suspect that this may have been a significant part of it).

New hotel just between the harbour side and Reberbahn. Considered a good location by many. This hotel is good for business travel as well as pleasure. Modern and stylish. Fancy bar at the top with a very nice view in all directions. You definitely need to drop here during your stay. Bags not allowed in this bar though - leave it in your room or alternatively turn it into the cloak room up their. Had a very good breakfast, but not cheap. The same you can say about the stay overall. Room smelled like a smoker was there the night before. Not sure if it was air condition problem. You will have to pay car parking yourself - use of the garage is an add on to the bill - not included.

Stayed at the Empire Riverside for one night on business and had no complaints at all. Some rooms have river views but not all, although the bar on the 20th floor has great views of the harbour etc at night. Room was very clean and modern and the full height glass windows give the rooms plenty of light, although those not keen on heights might be uncomfortable. The buffet breakfast was very good with choices to suit anyone. Few minutes walk from the Reeperbahn (Hamburg red light district) and you are likely to get hassled by local "girls" if you are out late at night. Once in the hotel though, there are no problems. Would definitely recommend a stay here, staff were very helpful and polite.

Room Tip: Ask for a room harbourside, and above 10th floor if possible for best views.
