“Fashionable place, central location, good food”
Reviewed 9 March 2012

What I love about Die Bank is that you can wander in at any time in the afternoon/evening and just have a drink or go for a full a la carte meal. The building is stunning, decor is great and the atmosphere is fabulous. As a rule the service is very good, as is the food. However it's not perfect and I feel that the price is justified more by the location than the food. On our last visit I had a first rate dish of grilled trout with 'spaghetti'-potato, egg yolk & caviar. It was excellent. On the other hand, my husband had a piece of sea bass that wouldn't have been enough for our cat. He'd eaten it within a couple of minutes and was still starving - and it cost €36. Followed by the waiter asking if everything was OK, explaining that it wasn't and then.......nothing. Why ask? Best thing about Die Bank is the location & atmosphere, worst thing is the value for money.

“Old school in a good way”
Reviewed 20 February 2012

It was good experience to enter the restaurant. The restaurant is build inside an old bank, from around the 1930´ees. It looked amazing and together with great food and a nice bare it became a great evening.

“Magnificent premises - can't really remember the food”
Reviewed 19 February 2012

I was stunned when entering the restaurant. The restaurant is, as the name suggests, in what used to be a bank. The room with the high ceiling and the very cool photos on the walls is perfect for a restaurant / bar. However; it would have been nice if the food lived up to the surroundings. It didn't. The dessert; a chocolate creme brulee was very delicious, but neither the appertizer nor the main course were something special. The wine was good, though.

“More than we expected”
Reviewed 17 February 2012

We have been there for dinner and had a "special offer". Although the price was not as high "as usual", the food was wonderful, very creative chef! The service was very friendly and did not make us feel "special offer guests". The atmosphere is much more casual and lively than we expected. We'll definitely come back!

“Food is Excellent, Service & Atmosphere needs help......”
Reviewed 10 February 2012

This restuarant is fantastic for its FOOD....but thats about it.....No atmosphere as its n an old bank.....around 1800s. Having been a server n university, i pay attention to details.....Was meet by resturant mgr who showed us 2 our table.....table was uneven,shaky,etc..no problem, server corrected it. Was served a cosmo w/chipped glass, asked the restuarant mgr for an expresso, waited 20mins....still no expresso...my server took care of it. This is the best part and probably the reason I will not go there again.....Requested no pineapples on my dessert place....extremely allergic.....that was no problem....however, instead the kitchen put pineapple decoration.....DUH!!! no pineapple is no pineabble....especially since I explained my allergic reaction 2 the restuarant mgr.....This is a serious error on the part of the kitchen sous/dessert chef, restuarant mgr, server.....at some point this should have been caught & returned 2 the kitchen b4 presenting it 2 me......even pineapple residue and WE HAVE A SERIOUS SITUATION THAT BY THE TIME MEDICAL PERSONNEL ARRIVE........I WILL B DEAD!! :-))......having explained this to my server and restuarant mgr, this dessert was presented..........can u say COMMUNICATION..........

Their definitely seemed 2 b a communication problem between the restuarant mgr and servers......

If you're gonna call yourself a TOP RESTUARANT, than make sure u have the right service staff........pouring wine without presenting the bottle, is not service!!.....again, a lot of us worked while going thru university.....so i truly appreciate a good server........THIS WAS NOT THE CASE.....from bar to restuarant mgr to kitchen chef......

This was my 2nd time there......certainly wont b a 3rd with this type of service.....the FOOD can only carry the restuarant so far............

Their are 2 huge pictures of 2 older gentlemen......serves no purpose as they r not the owners......one pix shows this man smiling.....with the remaining few teeth that he has......the other shows the man with his head back.....not something I want 2 look at when im having an expensive meal......
Hope this info helps........
