Hamburg was great so we didn't spend too much time squeezed into the small rooms! The hotel was as expected for an ETAP (although now seems to be branded as Ibis Budget). Just a few tiny thin towels, thin mattress - but you know what your getting and for my family needs this is normally enough. Relative good value (although not particularly cheap on this occasion as it seemed to be a peak weekend in Hamburg due to festival).
Free parking, location was good for us as we had a car. There seemed to be plenty of OK places to eat even though we arrived late (we just grabbed a pizza).
Was originally given large but smelly smokers rooms so had to change (guy on reception initially saying this wasn't possible but of course this was just an initial reaction as he didn't want the hassle. Eventually he miraculously found 2 non-smokers rooms (unfortunately smaller and not set up for our family requirements). The room change (and the fact it was late and reception then closed) meant we were short on bed clothing - we managed to survive though!More
