Very relaxing place to visit and walk around. The park has nice view and the nearby is interesting to observe.

Really interesting but only three stars because there is nothing else ( good restaurant) to round out the tour. Plan an hour or so with nice weather to stroll through and enjoy the architecture.

incredible nice surrounding ...watch all the small things you can see there (in the Roof of the temples or on the Roof of the Museum)

in summetime for chilling in the City, mathildenhöhe is also very attractive....some People take their boule-balls and play and have a red wine just like those old frenchmen who occupied Darmstadt in earlier times.

fantastic is also that it is so close to the City, the woog (our city-bath) and the hospitals.

we really love to be there and spend some time.

Here you find an artist's colony of typical 'Art Deco' houses, you can see the 'Fünf-Finger-Turm' which was given to the residents of Darmstadt by Zar Nicholas when he married a Hessian princess. And you can visit a Russian Chapel that was built for the Zar and his family in order to make it possible for him to pray 'on Russian earth' when he stopped for his visits to Darmstadt.
I can't really fill in the following questions as I live nearby and can visit this place whenever I like to with whoever comes with me.

The main attraction in town the Mathildenhöhe has the tower which became the town symbol (the Wedding Tower, presented to Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig, Queen Victoria's grandson and brother of the last Tzarina), the Russian Chapel (the only Court Chapel outside Russia, built for the last Tzar and Tzarina, designed by Peter Ustinov's grandfather and where the parents pf Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh, were married in 1903), some of the original houses designed by the artists colony, as well as a space for exhibition and a small museum on Art Noveau design.
