Utility style hotel in a shopping center but still more than adequate for my 2 day business trip. Within walking distance to the park and downtown old town. There are some nice German restaurant nearby if you are willing to walk. I arrived by taxi from the Frankfurt airport but I understand that there are trains and buses that can get you there too.

A training hotel for the nearby university, the Pallas makes the most of the location which is on first impression may be a bit "sketchy". The rooms are very large by EU standards, clean and well designed. Walking distance from the university, several good restaurants and unique bars, thus this establishment surpasses first impressions. The breakfast was not free as some have written, rather well worth the 7 euros charge. 25 minutes from the Frankfurt airport this hotel provided a value alternative to the hotels at the airport.

Room Tip: The odd number rooms face the back and are quieter than the even number rooms. Arrival after 1900 h...

I spent 3 nights here over December during the Christmas market period. I felt that for the time of year it was very well priced. I arrived after the check-in time of 7pm and having told Pallas before coming found my key waiting for me when I arrived - it was all well organised and simple. Likewise, when leaving my flight home was late in the evening and they were happy for me to keep the room until 3pm.

Overall, the room was comfortable, all the facilities were clean and well presented. The only thing it lacked was a kettle in the room for making tea... but really that isn't a big deal!

The hotel itself is set back from a main road, but this is not a problem as I found no noise disturbance at any point of the night from traffic or anything else. There are a couple of supermarkets within 5mins walking distance in case you need any food. It's roughly a 20min walk from the city center and a 10min walk from the main tram/bus routes that can take you to the center or to the train station.

After spending the day in Heidelberg we were looking for a simple hotel, and ended up in Darmstadt. With 45 euro's for two people it is a good deal, also not too far from the highway or the city center of Dramstadt. Cheaper then Heidelberg.

The room was spacious with good beds, and it was clean as well. Recommended for those who are looking for a affordable but good stay.

The rooms were large and clean. There is free WiFi and breakfast. There is also a lift for your bags to go up the stairs. My wife and I enjoyed our stay. The windows are huge in the rooms and there is a grocery store next door, also parking is free.

Room Tip: Ask for the lift if you have a lot of bags to bring up the stairs.

This hotel situated 30min by walking from the main train station is really symple clean with a correct service.
All room d't have a window but it is a cceptable because of a roof window instead.
One restrition, the front desk is open from 7 am to 7pm. It is necessary to anticipate a call before to have the entrance door code.

* The hotel logo is a drawing of an old, charming mansion; in truth this is a converted office building in the middle of an industrial zone.

* The rooms have no windows, only a roof opening that lets a little light in. In the summer, rooms get very hot, but air conditioning is present. The roof openings do not have good blinds, so expect to wake up really early in the summer (i.e. at or just before sunrise).

* The staff is nice and friendly and the rooms are clean; in fact, this is a training hotel for the nearby university hostellery management programme. Because of this, there will be no personnel present in the evening.

* Breakfast is good if not spectacular

Once that you understand that it is a student-run hotel, most of the quirks make sense.
