We always try to do a tour of a city as we find that you miss out on a lot if not and they have always been good. The 2 hour hop on hop off tour was not worth the money. A two hour tour costing approx. 28 Euros and you spent an hour of that on your own free time looking around the xmas market, which we had already done the night before. If I had realised the whole tour was not fully escorted and narrated I would not have done it. Saying that the lady who did the so called tour was very helpful and pleasant but we wasted a lot of money.

Day tour to Strasbourg Black Forrest and Baden Baden
Day started off with a not so friendly service man at check in who had taken payment. Everything after that was very good.
We had fantastic tour guides Peter and Ken who were very experienced and friendly.
The one hour cruise to see Strasbourg was very nice and scenic as the visit of the church and markets was amazing. Throughout the tour Peter was very patient with all the needs of the guests.
Black Forrest was absolutely beautiful!
We've read some reviews where others think the stop at the shop is a waste of time however they need to be aware that this is what all tour companies will do. If they don't want to get any souvenirs (as this is the only opportunity to do so) then there's other things you can do such as take photos of the views and go to the restaurant to try traditional black Forrest cake.
Baden Baden was saved til last and rightly so as this is a very beautiful town and as advised by Peter there's just so much to do there you really need more than just a day to see it all. He even advised that its best to at least spend 2 nights there in the Summer to see the beauty of it all.

Overall, the tour was wonderful. I took the Baden-Baden one-day tour. Our travel guide was Peter and he was wonderful, friendly, patient, and personable. We spent most part of the day in Strasbourg which was actually the highlight of my trip. We spent an hour on a boat ride in the canal that winds its way through the old town. Afterwards, we visited the amazing Strasbourg Cathedral. I could have easily spent the rest of the day in Strasbourg, but, oh yeah I signed up for Baden-Baden. So, we whisked away to the Black Forest, stopped in a mountain lodge for coffee and dessert (Black Forest Cake no less). We ended the day at Baden-Baden. I was disappointed with Baden-Baden, but that was not the tour company's fault. It just wasn't what I was expecting in a city.

My only two complaints are that I wish the tour company would invest in a better lunch. All I got was a flimsy chicken sandwich and a juice in the box. Secondly, the man that worked behind Greenline's counter is a cranky curmudgeon. Other than that, this was a wonderful tour and one that I recommend to anyone visiting Frankfurt but wants to get out of town.

We took 2 full day tours with this company.

1. Heidelberg & Rhine Combi Tour - Great places to visit, but can do without so much time on the bus !! We took this as a full day tour (the same company also offers these tours as half day options) . So we first visited Heidelberg. It was a nice drive along the Autobahn and our guide, Peter, was great about sharing information about the area and the town. So far so good :) After this, we returned back to Frankfurt to the same starting point and then left to go to the Rhine Valley after picking up and dropping off those guests who had chosen either tour as a half day option. This seemed like a huge time waster for the people who had taken the full day tour option. they can probably give us more time at Heidelberg instead of making us spend so much time on the bus !! Rhine Valley tour was ok since we did not go up to Lorelei which was only 15-20km ahead of the point till where we went. If we spent less time on the bus, I am sure this can be included in the tour !! Again our tour guide was the same so all good about that. The dinner was tasty and the wine tasting was very informative. Overall our experience was not so great since a large part of the day was spent on the bus unnecessarily.

2. Baden-Baden Strasbourg & Alsace - Great day thanks to our guide !!! We were the only 2 people on this tour, so the company arranged for us to go with Mr. Peter B. in a car, so it pretty much turned out to be a private tour. Mr. Peter B. was amazing !!! He made us feel like we were touring with a friend. It was raining a bit in Frankfurt that weekend so he turned around our schedule so we missed the rain in Blackforest (Baden-Baden, Mumulsee Lake) and Stasbourg. He also gave us enough explanations of all the sites we visited and helped us take pictures. All in we had a great day, thanks to Mr. Peter.

I had a long layover in the FRA and wanted to tour the city. There is a kiosk by one of the main exit doors (lower level) that sells the ticket. A van picked us up at the airport and took us to one of the main squares by the main train station. We then get on a double decker bus where there was a tour guide (audio narrative in English) and they gave us a tour of the town. We offloaded the bus in the historical part of the town where we were able to tour the area, take some pictures and but some souvenirs. On our way back, the Van driver also drove us through a nice area of the city by the river which was excellent for some photo ops. The tour took 4 hours but you definitely can do it in 3 hours if you are rushing to get on a flight. Overall, good value service to tour a beautiful city.
