“Excellent experience in Frankfurt!”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

My wife and I had our first full meal in Germany here on April 19. It was great!

The schnitzel was outstanding, the beer was good, and our server was friendly and prompt.

The pork loin was just OK, a little tough to be sure.

Overall, a great meal at a good price!

“food is good!”
Reviewed 3 April 2014 via mobile

I had ordered the roasted pork leg and it is nice! The sausage is also quite good. But if you want to be there do remember to reserve a table or you would just have an hour!

“Great German Food”
Reviewed 13 March 2014

This restaurant is easy to find at the train station at the start of the Zeil shopping area across from MacDonald s, and down the street from the Grand Westin Hotel.
The food is excellent German food. Staff is friendly.
I highly recommend the pork knuckle

Nice restaurant. Went there for a business dinner because a customer from Norway keeps coming back there when he visits Frankfurt.
It is a rather traditional restaurant, especially nice if you'd like to introduce someone to Frankfurt cuisine. Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.

“Simply phenomenal German food!”
Reviewed 17 February 2014

I travel to Frankfurt once a year on business and have found a variety of restaurants that very good "traditional" German food. Last week the concierge at the Grand Westin directed my colleagues and I to Solber Faessje, a short walk around the corner from the hotel. Quite simply it was bar none the best meal I have had in Frankfurt!

This is a cozy hole-in-the-wall restaurant and bar that is clean and comfortable with the feel of a real "local" food joint. The one man band that is the owner, bartender, server (if he's also the chef then he is truly a magician) is friendly, efficient, entertaining and multi-lingual. The service is lightening fast and the menu is large. The focus is real German "soul food" with pork done more ways than you can count and a variety of Schnitzel and wurst (sausages). The proprietor boasts that his appfelstrudel is the best in town. While I haven't tried every strudel in Frankfurt, his was certainly fantastic and a great way to cap off the meal (if you can spare a little room in your belly after dinner).

Just an all around fantastic casual dining experience with tremendous food! Perhaps the biggest drawback here is the size (especially in the winter when the outdoor seating is not in use). So be prepared to wait for a table. If you do though, grab a large dunkel brau and tuck in... it's well worth the wait!
