“City Break”
Reviewed 1 October 2013

Great Boutique Hotel, friendly staff, fantastic breakfast choice - although not sure about the Prosecco and Vodka!!. Rooms were adequate in size with comfortable beds and a wet room. Unfortunately no tea making facilities in the room. Friendly and lively bar (note smoking).
Easy to get to from Station if arriving from Airport go to upper level and walk along platform 24 and turn right by station car park then left and first right is the Hotel road. (quicker than going out front entrance of station). Couple of streets opposite station consist of the red light area but no problems,to get into the city best route is to go down Munchener Strasse 15 minutes to Romer.

Room Tip: Higher the better although we were on first floor with no problems

2 night stay at this hotel for frankfurt motor show. its easy to get to from the main transtation, being only a 4-5 minute walk. check in was simple late on a friday night. compared to other european cities, i found this hotel very economical. the room itself was spacious for my needs, and the bathroom was also adequate (shower only). the room unfortunately smelt like many smokers had been there, and there was what looked like a cigarette burn on the floor. the compounding problem is that if you opened your window, other guest could probably see you! the room has a safe, stocked minibar, and TV with a number of channels (english) and in house movies. the room was quiet and bed comfortable. the main criticism of this hotel is the appalling internet. the free in house wifi was horrendously slow if it worked, even in the lobby. the free breakfast was good, with hot foods and the usual cold foods/cereals. the hotel is 10 minutes walk to the Messehall where the Frankfurt motor show was, and in another direction, about 10 minutes walk to the city square. For my purposes i was happy with the hotel and would stay again if by myself.

Hotel had a good location. It was modern and clean. Breakfast and the hotel bar were great. Hotel has a very good atmosphere. Only thing missing were thicker curtains in windows: woke up to the light.

Really outstanding, value-priced hotel near the Frankfurt main train station. Your room fee comes with a great breakfast buffet. Load up on breakfast and skip having to buy a lunch during your day of sight seeing. Unlike a lot of hotel breakfast buffets (say at the Holiday Inn Express), the Bristol people vary items. Always something different, along side your favorites like eggs and bacon.

Staff is friendly and English literate. You do, however, have to get used to the idea of European hotels. This isn't like back home in North America. Space is at a premium in Europe. The single isn't that wide but it's modern, clean, and well appointed. The bathroom has a rather small glass enclosed shower stall. If you're a bubba sized North American you're NOT going to fit in this shower.

Rooms come with a mini bar which is good for keeping some store bought beverages cool. There's an in-room safe free to use too. None of the rooms have a/c, so plan your stay according to the season. I visited late August and nights were cool enough you could make do with the good sized fan included in the room. The fan is also nice for those who need to wash some stuff on the road. The fan can be used to quickly air dry your hand wash.

Google maps will give you a bit of a round about (but correct) way to get to the hotel. Bear in mind if you walk straight from the hotel to the west end of the train station, you can enter the station through the back way, and avoid some of the sketchy types that line the streets.

Bristol Hotel is 2 minutes from the main station, has good rooms and excellent breakfast.
The only negative point is the lack of gym. Overall is great, including its structure and the surroudings. Could be there again many times.

We were recommended this hotel and it did not disappoint. Not a great neighborhood but hotel makes up for that and the bar is great - must say I don't like the fact that it is a smokers bar but it did not effect us too bad - it was pretty quiet. Hotel room are very quiet and I did not hear any outside noise in the three days we were there. Rooms are quite small and don't have aircon., they do provide a fan which is a bit noisy but does the job I guess. Installation of overhead fans would solve the problem I think.
