“"Strange Discotheque" - Razor gone”
Reviewed 13 April 2014

I spent 2 nights in this Hotel - the rooms are ok, breakfast is good and is is close to the "Messe". There is a Disco in the basement - strange atmosphere and not what you would expect in a 4 star Hotel - there is no "normal" bar in the evening.
Coming "home" in the evening after visiting a Restaurant my t-shirt (i need it to sleep), razor and toothbrush were missing because the cleanig staff obviously thought I had already left. They returned my t-shirt but my (20€) razor was gone - thrown away! - They offered that I should fill out a form... - no way - I will never spend another night in that hotel. In 40 years of world wide travelling I never had such an experience.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We feel sorry for your inconvenience and regret that we have not lived up to your expectations. In our LifeStyle Bar we offer our guests, every night, live music of selected artists. Due to our entertainers, our bar is very popular in Frankfurt. Alternatively our staff will also serve cocktails and drinks in our comfortable lobby.
As for the shirt and your razor I would ask you to contact me directly. Due your review it is not possible to find out in which hotel room you stayed. Of course, we will check this case again then. It would be our pleasure to welcome you once again and convince you of our good services. Peter Berhörster, General Manager Maritim Hotel Frankfurt

The Maritim Hotel Frankfurt is very easy accessible from the highway and is located next to the Frankfurter Messe (convention center) and approx. 2 miles from downtown. The reception is very nice, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms are very well maintained and homey. My room was on the quieter side of the hotel - facing the Europacenter, so I could leave my windows open without the noise. Though it didn't really bother me, but the TV was more the size of a Laptop and while laying and relaxing on bed, the picture appears pretty small. There is no parking around the hotel besides their very own parking garage - the charge per night is EURO 27!!! This can make a good deal into a not so good deal. During Trade Exhibitions in Frankfurt, the price might triple or quadruple! In general it is a nice higher end hotel in Frankfurt and I would book it again.

Room Tip: Choose the room that do not face the main street for a quiet and good night sleep.

Dear Gust, thank you for your kind feedback regarding your stay at our hotel. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Of course we will forward your compliments to our staff. Due to fact, that the parking garage under our hotel is not our own parking garage, we do have, unfortunately, no influence on the prices from the company Apcoa. It was our pleasure to have you as our guest and we are looking forward to welcoming you again in the future. Peter Berhörster, General Manager Maritim Hotel Frankfurt

If you are going to the exhibition, the hotel is perfect. The breakfast is also excellent, with huge selection and fresh food.
The hotel seems to be a bit overprized, but it is probably because of the demand during this large exhibitions.
However, please avoid to ask the old man who take care of the luggage close to the reception about anything. If you do so, he will probable destroy your day. We left over luggage there in a early check in, and we was directly rude and made bad comments to me. Because of this episode, I will choose to stay in Mariott or one of the other hotels in the area.

We stayed at Maritim during the last ProLight & Sound show at Frankfurt.

Basically, the only good thing of this hotel is the real proximity to the Messe. No need even to get out of the hotel to go inside. Also the rooms are considerably big.

The service staff on the breakfast are really polite, gentle, kind and good.

But, apart of that, there are many points that they really should consider to improve:

- Unexisting service on the day of our arrival (we carried two heavy baggages without any help from staff)

- NOT automatics doors and really heavy

- Really, really, really, really expensive for the quality: 320 €/night for double normal room, WITHOUT breakfast, another 26 € per person!

- Really old 80's style decoration rooms, even using CRT TV!!

- Even requesting a second pillow, I couldn't sleep properly one single night. Please, CHANGE THE PILLOWS!

- They requested to pay in advance two extra nights booked apart of the formal booking of 5 nights. NEVER seen in any of the 40 countries I visited

- One bottle of water on the room… 5€!!!

- Internet… LAN sucks! and expensive and wifi is outsourced with Telekom and, apart of not working well, is really expensive: 5€/day. Sirs, we are in 2014!!! Wake up wake up, internet should be free!!

Please, stop to make profit on this way, increasing the prices for basic things when the hotel is gonna be, predictable, crowded.

If they don't change for next year there is a really really nice NH, cheaper, newer and just across the street.

Room Tip: I think there are some renovated rooms, but I don't want to thing the prices they are selling...

Second visit. A nice hotel close to festhalle. Rooms are a good size, modern and clean. You have to pay for wifi but unfortunately it didn't reach my room (806) so I had to sit in the lobby to use it

Spent 4nights here on business and travel to Frankfurt once a month so have tried most hotels. On a par with the Hilton but at about half the price. Breakfast doesn't start until 6:30am so if you have early meetings you miss out. Perhaps a half hour earlier for the early birds? However, a very good choice of hot and cold food.

Staff friendly without being genuinely 'warm'. With one or two exceptions felt they were going through the motions. This was my impression first time and this visit confirmed it. Still as long as i can check in quickly and order a meal then I'm happy.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms too far from the central hub as you can't get a wifi signal. I reckon 800 to about...

Firstly, it is a great location if you are attending the trade fair buildings. Thats the only good thing about this place. Rooms are outdated, even has old CRT tv's. Fixtures in the room were broken again, had to get someone in to fix a few things. Had exact same problem last year. Broadband is very expensive. Breakfast is outrageously expensive. Still allows smoking in the bar. If youre a non smoker, forget it. Service from check in to check out is non existant. Try to get the staff to say hello or even a smile is a challenge. If you plan to stay here for vacation, best to stay somewhere in the city as you are 15 euros by taxi to the main shopping area, and will easily find a much better hotel.

Located next to the exhibition grounds this is the number one choice for fair visitors. It's a good hotel, not very special, but the rooms are spacious, excellent beds en great breakfast.
There is a nice bar, but we prefer the bar across the street in the Mariott hotel
