Visitors might find the area quite intimidating.
You have to go to the bar to smoke (no smoking rooms).
My room and bed (old wing) were very small..
If you are tall with long limbs you will curse that tiny shower - "Help. I'm stuck!"
Musak in the entrace doorway(?) and in the lift. What's that about?
The cost of the wifi is absurd.
The staff were generally very genial - none of the above was their fault. The room was spotless at all times.

If you have to stay in this part pf town, why not try the Excelsior?

Dear „W4Peter“, thank you for writing your opinion on Tripadvisor. Our room sizes are different independ to the room category booked. We would be happy to assist for future stays to make sure you get the room suits you best. The music within the different areas is part of our art works within the hotel. Our Le Méridien curator did select this music together with artist from our art group LM100. You are able to discover more at our local unlock art partner SCHIRN Kunsthalle, video art within the lobby, etc. Kind regards, Wolfgang Selinger – Resident Manager

Just arrived to the hotel, the staff is kind but the room is tiny, I would expect something else for 279€ per night. Especially when my co workers pay half or even third of this price. This is one of the lowest value for money I've ever had in a hotel

I stayed here for two night for a small convention held in the meeting rooms downstairs. I was pleased to see, that SPG Gold card is of use here. Got a room from the "modern" wing, top floor facing the skyscrapers of Commertzbank, Deutsche Bank, etc.

Getting here was easy, Local train S8 (or S9) to the main railway station and a 200 m walk. Front desk service was swift and polite. As well as the service in breakfast room and concierge desk. Late checkout up until 6 pm would also be no problem at all.

The normal room is quite small by European standard. 3.5 x 4.0 m + bathroom + corridor. One narrowish closet for the ironing board and clothes to be hanged. Acceptable size desk for work, two chair, a small table, and a bed with very catching edges. I have both of my legs bruised by hitting accidentally the corners of the bed. Tight turns are needed to get around in the room due to space constraints.

Bathroom is large, apart from the shower tub which is quite narrow. When showering, much of the splatters end down the bathroom floor. Amenities appear to be of good quality. AC/heating worked well and silently. It was possible to open the windows for fresh air as well.

Minibar selection is quite limited, only two beers available as alcoholic beverages. Rest have to be ordered from the room service. Two complimentary bottles of water per day add a nice touch. Room service prices are ok for food but slightly steep for wines.

There are minor things easily corrected. Room service telephone number can not be found anywhere in the room and have to contact reception. Also Room service menu and other instruction leaflets have been printed using gray font, very difficult to read at dim lighting conditions the room offers. Instead of half a dozen different leaflets, a sturdy hotel information binder would do better.

Room Tip: New wing, high floor.

Dear „TuomLapv“,I would like to thank you for sharing your experience. Your comments are very helpful and I appreciate your detailed writing. By the end of this year we will have the Le Méridien Bed also in the two top floors in the business wing as well as within the historical wing. This means the bed will change and we create more space around the bed. We are looking forward to see you again. Kind regards, Wolfgang Selinger – Resident Manager

Stayed our last night here, waiting for our flight home. Not for tourists. The lobby was full of business types. Mostly because wifi was free for 30 minutes in the lobby. It costs 20 euros for 24 hours in your room. Room was inexpensive, but when you have to pay for parking, wifi and breakfast, the cost adds up. The hotel is located right next to the redlight district. I should have done better homework on location. I saw it was a Le Meridien and I thought of at least 3 star, Not so. Shower alternated between scalding and freezing. Not much service to speak of. Room nothing special. What a dump, as Bette Davis would say. Starwood should have higher standards.

Dear guest “Seery50”, thank you for sharing your opinion on Tripadvisor. Indeed internet is 30min for free within the lobby area to simply check Emails, flight tickets, etc. If you have to work in your room we do offer different typs of bandwidth for a charge up to 19 EUR for 24 hours. Our location is a quite area next to the main train station, Main river and 15min walk to the old part of Frankfurt. Of course the red light disctrict is also only three streets away, but if you do not feel comfortable within that area, it is easy to avoid walking there. The hotel is near on of the main transit stations which makes it convenient.

The only hotel I've stayed in that provides free bottled water in the room. On the other hand the internet / media is expensive. If you're stay doesn't include breakfast it is very expensive to add on as well. There are a few cafes and a Starbucks near by for morning coffee instead. There's a small street market a few blocks a way -- cooked and fresh food.

Room was a little small but the bed was large for a European hotel and the pillows were nice.. The back of the hotel doesn't have a good view, except for an unexpected statue of a sheep on top of a building.

I was given a free ticket to a museum. I think they were giving them to everyone.

It isn't a very nice area after dark. If you just want to have a nice enough hotel, near coffee in the morning and close to transit to get elsewhere then it is good.

I guess I spend too much business time travelling. I stayed during a non-messe week so the price was not too high. Great rooms. Impressed with the way it is run. The only smoking and eating bar in Frankfurt. ( I don't smoke but a smoking colleague of mine was surprised).

Okay. I'm not a prude but staying in the Red Light District isn't my idea of a good time. It makes no sense because on the other spectrum the area is surrounded by Shawarma places everywhere. The smell of Shawarma on top of aging hookers just doesn't do it for me. I saw a tranny too! I didn't feel safe in this area at night needless to say. The hotel has your typical average hotel room. Thankfully we were only there to rest our heads for one night before an early flight. Fluorescent lights in the bathroom, odd room configuration and cheap linens just add to the overall bad taste of the hotel. Had to pay for wifi. Parking is like 1/3 the cost of the room. Next time I'm staying at the airport hotel- hopefully the sounds of airplanes will knock me unconscious so I don't have to endure this city again.

Dear guest “7continentsby25”, I feel sorry to see Frankfurt or our district is not convinient for you and you even feel unsafe. Of course the district we are in is very mixed as you will find it in many other metropol cities. However our hotel is located three streets away from the red light district and there is a very nice and also safe walkway to the old part of Frankfurt along the river side. We do offer city maps and are happy to provide recommondations about Frankfurt. I assume you received a very good deal for your accommodation, as the parking fee is 28 EUR for 24 hours - similar to parking spaces around our hotel.
