We had another visit in German Christmas Markets, this time in Frankfurt. Alexander am Zoo is a perfect choice if you prefer a hotel in a quiet peaceful area. It is only 20 minutes walk to centrum of Frankfurt's busiest shopping area, Ziel, and a couple more minutes more to Rathaus. The hotel is very nice, the suite we had was excellent, airy, furnished with good taste. Breakfast was nice, no fuzz with good choices. In nearby you can find a different Frankfurt with restaurants worth visiting.
We also enjoyed an evening in English theater, go and check it.

Room Tip: Choose suite, visit the sauna eventhough it is not a real Finnish sauna.

We stayed for two nights here for the Christmas Market and really enjoyed it. I liked the quiet location on a residential street. Nothing fancy but perfectly comfortable and the staff are pleasant. The room was decently sized and very clean. Service was friendly and flexible - we arrived early and they had no problem with letting us check in early so my daughter could have a nap. Breakfast was good, coffee was hot and plentiful. It's a reasonably easy walk to all the main shopping streets and, if you'd rather not walk, the U-Bahn is a couple of hundred metres away. The Bergerstrasse - with lots of cafes and some quirky shops - is very close. If you have kids, it might help to know this is next to the zoo and very far from the Hauptbahnhof area that you might prefer to avoid. Only small downside was you had to pay for Wifi (unless you booked on the hotel's own site).

We sayed in this Hotel for three nights and enjoyed every thing. The room ( standard room ) was very spacious , not like the most of the city hotels. Very clean, quiet and the location was ideal for going shopping on the "Zeil". Breakfast was standard, nothing to exiting but a good atmosphere. The parking was a bit problematic in the underground car park if your car is a bit bigger than a pram and € 14.- per night need to be reviewed by management.
But all in all were pleased with our stay and will book this hotel again.

this is our companie's new choice in Frankfurt. The hotel is well located - not far from the center and in a very quite area.
The rooms are wide enough and the services are good.
I believe that the price/value relation is a very good one.
Breakfast is excellent (as in most German Hotels).

We stayed here for three nights in September 2013. We decided to choose the hotel primarily because we wanted a hotel in the centre of Frankfurt, but not near the Hauptbahnhof after having read the reviews elsewhere on Tripadvisor.

This hotel is very well situated in a quiet, leafy area next to the Zoo. It is easily accessible, with a tram stop less than 200m away, and S and U bahn lines about ten minutes walk away. The area itself was quiet and safe, but it was very easy to walk to the cafes and bars of Bergerstrasse.

The hotel is clean, spacious and reasonably well equipped. Our room on the third floor was very pleasant, with a large juliet balcony. Breakfast was one of the best I have had in Europe, with plenty of selection and choice, and particularly good hot food such as bacon and sausage, as well as excellent pastries.

The staff were all very helpful and accommodating, and both the public and private areas of the hotel were very nice. We were able to get around Frankfurt very easily by walking or using public transport from the hotel. It would have been nice for the hotel to have its own bar area, and there was a piano bar here once, so that would be the only thing they could improve.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here, and would recommend it to anyone wanting a clean, safe, quiet location, but still within easy reach of all the sights of Frankfurt. We would definitely stay again.
