“Five Star Oasis”
Reviewed 11 June 2012

After three weeks in Holland, Allsace and Germany staying in a mixture of apartments, zimmers and hotels (not 5*) wanted to treat ourselves to a 5* hotel for our three night stay in Frankfurt. Booked the Westin through Priceline and were not disappointed.
One of the best 5* hotels we have stayed in. Rooms were large by European standards and well appointed. King size bed was most comfortable we slept in on the trip.
Location was great with easy access to train and shopping. There is an arcade near the hotel which had hairdressers and thai massage. Had a 60 minute Thai massage for €49 and haircut for € 11 (mens haircut). Hotel had a spa but just wanted a basic massage.
Staff were most welcoming on check in and the lady that checked us in was excellent. On checking out after our three night stay she made a point of wanting to attend to us. Wish I had staff like that in my business.
Were suprised as to how nice Frankfurt was. Others had said to us not much to see there but we reallyt enjoyed it. Did a day trip to Heidelberg (only an hour a way by train) and a day around Frankfurt was not enough. On our last night went to the TIGERPALAST which is a restaurant (Michelin star) with variety theatre. Is very close to the hotel and can not recommend it highly enough.

We wanted to end our Germany trip in a more comfortable hotel with lots of amenities. Usually we do not care as much but we were in Frankfurt which is not a German culture city. We spent one night here. It is 1 block from the U & S -bahn. We took the U-Bahn from the main train station and it took 3 stops. Then we took the S-bahn the next morning to the airport (6 stops). Very nice comfortable room with a king size bed and a good size bathroom. We went to the pool which was about 10 degrees too cold. We would have liked if it was heated. The WIFI is not outragouesly expensive there but it does not seem to good bandwidth. There are 4 computers in the lobby which are free. We ate at the San San Restaurant which is connected to the hotel. After touring Germany for 2 weeks, we wanted some chinese food and it had some of the best. I highly recommend it. We also tried the Sushimoto Japanese restaurant. We wanted to go to Fujiwara but it was a Sunday so it was closed. Sushimoto has a lot to be desired. It really is not a sushi place and more of a hibatchi place. We just wanted sushi and the menu for that is quite reduced. I would recommend finding somewhere else but the food was not bad. Just limited.

Overall this was a good hotel to end the trip with even though the AC barely pumped out any air and it was hot. We would stay here again because of the location and all the amenities it provides.

P.S. The staff was amazing. Great English! My wife forgot a Gucci bag in our hotel room and we did not realize she left it until we were at the airport. We called them and they said they would ship it to us. But they came up with a better idea. They gave it to a taxi driver (took his cell and license plate) and sent him to our terminal, gate, and door. It got there in 25 minutes and we were able to take it home. We paid the taxi for more then the fare, happily. Thank you to a great staff!

Very good hotel, very comfortable bed. weird double shower, but without water pressure to have water in both. Expensive internet in the room (16eur for 24h), but free available in the lobby. Very expensive breakfast, but havent tried it because of the price. Very corteous and fast room service, even if it was only to bring us some cutlery.

Great location, right beside Zeil walking street, Konstablerwache subway station and Berger Strasse.
Best of all, got it through priceline for a terrific rate.

My wife and I recently spent a week at the Westin Grand and, for the most part, enjoyed our stay. You certainly can't beat the location with both Frankfurt's main shopping district and a major U-Bahn station literally right around the corner. We only have two, minor complaints that keep us from giving the hotel an "excellent" rating. The first is that in this day and age it's absolutely ridiculous for a hotel catering to business travelers to charge for WiFi (I don't remember the rate, but I think at this hotels it was something like 15 euros a day) when on the grand scheme of things, it costs next to nothing to set up and maintain a wireless network. The second complaint was the cost of breakfast, which I believe was about 30 euros. I think that's a bit steep, even for Frankfurt. Luckily, there was a solution for both problems: just around the corner in the previously mentioned shopping district are a whole slew of small bakeries and other food shops and at the far end is a Starbucks with free WiFi. The price of a pastry or two and a coffee at Starbucks each day for five days cost me much, much less than just one day of WiFi and breakfast at the hotel. Other than that, our stay was great. Oh, almost forgot, if anyone on the Westin staff is reading this, if a guest asks for slippers and your hotel doesn't have any, don't tell them you will have some sent up and then never follow through; just tell us you're sorry and that your hotel doesn't have any.

Room Tip: Rooms on the rear of the hotel are very quiet.

Only stayed here for 1 night on the way back to Paris. This does not detract from the stay at all. It is very well located with good onsite facilites.

The checkin was very good with helpful service from the porters and the reception staff. The onsite food and service were good and at a "business" standard.

Could not fault the hotel during the stay.

I stayed at The Westin Grand Frankfurt for five days on business. From start to finish the experience was perfect. The rooms are very large for European standards, and the beds are BIG and luxurious! The bathroom is spacious with marble floors and a dual shower head (great!). Keeping true to the Westin style, the room design itself is elegant, clean, and modern. The gym/pool is located on the top floor overlooking the Frankfurt skyline, an inspiration to keep running! The restaurant is a bit expensive (as expected) however, I am convinced they have the best salad in Germany (not easy to find). If you are ready to go out for dining or shopping, well that’s a short walk as the hotel is located on a quiet section of the most exciting street in Frankfurt where you can have anything you crave within about a ten minute walk. To top it off, the staff was so friendly and eager to help! What else can I say; I wish I could live here!

I stayed at the Westin 6 days on a business trip. From a business perspective, it's a bit far from the office buildings, although the train station is right there so it was never a big problem. From a tourist perspective, this location is amazing! Right on the Zeil with tons of restaurants literally at your doorstep and the touristy sites just a short walk away.

I found the staff to be extremely helpful and nearly everyone spoke English which was a big plus. At check-in, the woman tried to sell me an upgrade to a room at the back of the hotel which she said would be quieter. I declined and never heard a peep unless I had the window open. The road is not particulary busy.

Cons: The mattress was a bit firm for my personal preference and everything inside the hotel is really expensive. really, 16 euros per day for basic slow speed Internet?
