We stayed in a 'preferred guest room' at the Westin Grand for two nights, so that we could see a bit of Frankfurt before flying home after a holiday elsewhere in Germany.
A typical large business hotel, unremarkable in many respects, it does however have a major plus point which is it's location. All parts of the old town are accessible on foot from the hotel and the river is little more than a 10-15 minute direct walk. All the main shopping and tourist options are close at hand and this makes the location perfect.
The hotel was comfortable, clean and the staff courteous and professional. Irritatingly (and by no means specific to the Westin Grand) is the fact that Wifi is not available for free in the rooms although you can use it for free in the lobby. Still, many large hotel chains still charge for Wifi everywhere so perhaps we should be grateful for that - although it's often free in so many smaller/private hotels.
The levels of comfort were good but the price of the room reflects this and so we would rate the Westin Grand as a good choice if you are visiting Frankfurt, but we didn't experience anything that made the place feel particularly special.More
