This is an older hotel but is well maintained. I really like the location. It is centrally located in the old town with easy access to restaurants and shopping. Zeil is just a block away as well as the subway station. Most sights are within walking distance including the museum row. The central station is probably a 20 minute walk away from the hotel.
The room was large and well furnished. The bathroom was well designed. Bed and quality of sleep were very good. The room was a bit dark specially on winter days. My only real complaint was the breakfast buffet which I thought was very expensive and not worth the value. On the other hand, you can get breakfast ala carte. I thought the mushroom omelet with bacon was reasonable at 8 euros.
I thought the staff were friendly and very helpful. They made dinner reservations for me with no problems. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to travelers specially those looking for American type of hotel accommodation.More
